The irony of Top Gun is not lost on me.

Two gay actors (one out now, one not) pretending to be in love per their characters. (Those 2 actors would be: Kelly McGillis & Tom Cruise).

Default Ugh.

Katie did not want her daughter being sent to this extreme faction of "training." As another poster said, She's a mama bear and will protect her child. Hang in there Katie!

That's why it's called acting.

Yes of course and they both did a good job acting in that film.

Katie Holmes...not so much...always looked miserable after the marriage; couldn't fake it for long.

Divorce is horriable no matter if you are famous or not. Fell bad- seems they were in two different worlds to being with. Sometime that works for people some times it doesn't. My husband is 21 years my senior- I didn't look for an older man intentionally. I feel in love with a older man. We have two different worlds of how we were raised and that sort of stuff- but at the end of the day we love each other and make our world work. I have a neighbor that her husband is 15 years older then her and they click very well together too.

Feel bad for the child- but at least Katie made it to her golden five year plan due to the pre nup the child is the bonus. I sure hope she can salvage what is even left of her career. So she can at least say, "ha, look at me now" five years from now.

My fave comment about this breakup:

"This is such a sad pre-arranged, mutually agreed upon, contractually obligated day for Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes."

;D

Finally!! Poor girl. Sounds as if she were brainwashed for years. Glad she found the strength to leave him for her daughter.
