Yep.
Yep, he's gonna be a bust, that sums it up. Regardless of college QB, they are all starting for scratch, I'm sure Jimmy Clausen has every play memorized since JV.

You're minimizing Auburn's offensive scheme, Cam's leadership skills and passing ability. Did you see the Bama/Auburn game? They were down 24-0 and won 28-27. Cam made THROWS versus running against Bama; Bama's defense is not one to take lightly. Regardless of offensive style, Cam would've been successful at the collegiate level. Again, he has all of the tools that could translate into success in the NFL, it'll be about work ethic, stay tuned.
Jamarcus Russell won some games in college too...

Cam Newton, the No. 1 draft pick of the Carolina Panthers, will star in advertisements for Under Armour apparel company. That will make him Charlotte's first nationally marketable sports star since Larry Johnson in the early 1990s. Newton has signed a four-year deal with the company that reportedly will pay him more than $1 million annually. I do not think Cam was a wise choice. He can be best friends with the vets all he wants, but if he plays poorly it won't save him.

He is a rookie and this was his first time starting. Not everyone can be spot on right out of the gate nor should they be expected to.

He played a fairly good amount of minutes in the first game and had a poor showing i.e. 8 for 19, sacked twice. This is Game 2 and he still hasn't done well. When preseason ends, all the main defensive players play. How will he perform then...

Who knows? But to bust his chops as a rookie when some of the seasoned guys don't deliver is meh.....he's a rookie kid everyone knew that going in and for fans to expect primo is ridiculous.

With the first pick in the 2012 draft the Carolina Panthers select Andrew Luck.

Big Ben
Matt Ryan
Mark Sanchez
Sam Bradford
Joe Flacco

Immediate impact QBs

Cam was drafted #1 overall, not in the 2nd or 3rd round.

I think he will be with the following group:

Matt Leinart
Jamarcus Russell
Vince Young
Alex Smith

All were #1 or top 10 selections. Fan bases had optimism with these guys as well.
