I prefer Libertyville to Deerfield.

Deerfield has fallen in the shadows of it's immediate peers to the south, in particular Glenview, which has been the recipient of a ton of folks moving from the city. As far as the eye test, way more new builds and new money pouring into Glenview. East Glenview is more high end/desirable than any area in Deerfield. And the central neighborhoods, like Swainwood/Linneman/Dewes/Henley are nicer than their Deerfield cousins.

Why pay higher taxes in Deerfield, with less amenities, and a further commute from a material % of jobs? Home prices reflect that most would not.

I can understand, if you're going to live in Deerfield, saying "screw it" and heading up to Libertyville. Far more complete downtown, and I actually think the housing stock is nicer in Libertyville. Something about Deerfield that just doesn't seem as well kept.. Maybe it just never made a full recovery after the recession?

As far as the original topic of schools... Why are we even talking about that? Both are middle-upper class towns, with Tier 1 schools. Pick your poison.
