Mayor Lori Lightfoot Address (Chicago, Rome: appointed, taxes, law)

Wow. This is a weak mayor. Listening to her on the "breaking news" right now.



Sounds like she is trying to make up for decades of race issues. As Chicago burns, she is still preaching about Covid-19, love, etc. She had the police stand down and do nothing.



You get what you vote for. Minneapolis has been progressive run for close to a century. Why the mayor there wouldn't have laid down the law and changed police procedure to match that of UK bobbys is beyond me. The country wide mess is really a direct result of his incompetence.


Did he change police procedure to make it favorable to African Americans? He ran and won his position based on a previous police issue. Then when the rioting starts, he vacates a police precinct bldg and lets the crowd burn it down.


Sad mess.

Even people who liked her and supported her are VERY dissappointed in this whole mess and how she handled it! She should step down she is in WAY over her head

The people looting stores and setting things on fire are not protesters. They don't give a darn about Floyd. The are criminals and barbarians who are using it as an excuse to do that which they are already inclined to do. They need to be met with all deliberate force, tear gas, tasers, rubber bullets, batons, and those posing a real threat like arsonists deadly force.

well said and nobody goes to jail after being arrested anymore, they are set free to go back and repeat their behavior.

Maybe Richard Daley can contact Lori on the bat phone and "man-splain" how his dad handled it. A society is based on law and order. Such a simple concept.

Agreed and everyone seems to feel that way except the people who are actually in charge! Our tax dollars are paying for protection. And instead the ones being protected are the terrorists! The rest of us are screwed.

I am losing count as to how many of my friends and neighbors since last night have said they are looking into getting a gun. Something they never ever thought they would do which is why up until now they never had one.

getting a gun without the proper training is a bad idea..
A better idea is to move out of that nightmare city/state...alot safer, you'll be happier forever, and you'll pay less in taxes too!
