i mean.. i am kinda new to this thread and i pass through every now and again .. and somteimes jus reading some of the debates here makes me tired..and i can feel the tension even through the screen.. the love/ light threads get little or no attention and the debate threads get soo much.
Robust debate is a beautiful thing. I saw a special recently on the founding of America and OMG - those guys had MAJOR disagreements but in the end I think they all learned from it and grew as people.

There IS a way to discuss IDEAS and not make it personal and to discuss in a spirit of love. I'm beginning to be able to do that (thanks to this forum).

So, AISI, it's not whether we disagree or not but rather it's the fruit displayed while in disagreement that sometimes shows our shortcomings (or not).

I must say I've learned a lot on this forum because it's an open forum where atheists or 'heretics' or whoever can jump right in. Catholics and protestants, new agers and flat earthers - all are welcome to put thier 2 cents in.

It's been pointed out that there are TONS of Christian forums out there where you can just "amen" and encourage and be agreeable. This place is more of a a "Mars Hill" experience - where pagans and apostles and everything in between can hash out the big picture.

Definitely not for everyone but definitely something I treasure very much.

Some people believe that God is not saving everyone, only a few; as a result, they feel the need to convince as many people as possible. Also, some of us are seen as deceivers, and so others tend to want to change us or at least have us stop talking.

I personally believe that Jesus has already reconciled everyone, so I don't feel the need to save everyone, because He has already done it!
What is important to me is to get out the message of Love, because that is God, IMO; and the world needs that message more than anything else.

Blessings!

Amen, Brian. You nailed it.

Amen, brother! I like this place for the very reasons you stated as well. How else can we learn to love those who disagree with us without mixing it up with them? What good is it if our patience is never tried?

In dogma revelation proclaiming, teachers do not debate the ideas of God , they just tell them the truth and that is the last word........ Some people debate and debate and get so frustrated that they leave and are gone from this site, and some people here could tell you name of people who are gone today, but don`t because of city-rules, we don`t talk about other people here........ Pride can frustrate believers when people challenge what they are saying , but as Christians we are called resist pride and proud thoughts, and it is best to let it go or tell people even greater truths if they reject what they are talking about....

no offense as always... but arent there more important things for us to do ( as "christians') than to debate about god.( yes i know that we all think we have the ultimate truth and have a "desperate need" to share in order to save everyone "else")

i am no one and these are just my opinions.. but(me) being a seeker of truth and righteousness and love.. many debates here just show how not to be.. and show how bad "reliogious sects really are.. (sorry to whoever i offend)
i am just passing through once again.. hope everyone has a truly blessed day
maybe we can take just ONE day off of debating and show love no matter wat..but maybe not.

blessings
its pride that makes us want to be right all the time.
the truth is that it is only when we humble ourselves to nothing will we be in any position to hear god's wisdom ( which is the only thing that matters) our worldy wisdom is nothing. (just because we speak about god.. doesnt mean we are being led by a mind of christ.. it is always the fruit that will let you see the 'real" truth.)

your right.. it is very senseless to "battle" with our minds... and be in constant disagrreement.. we must give up our reasoning mind... and replace it with the mind of christ.. i too, like you am also quite new here, but although majority of people here love to battle there are some who always spread love and show support and are here simply to share their experiences

keep your eyes on the lord and he will show u the way.. if you take your eyes off of him and look elsewhere.. u will be led in the wrong direction.

god bless

Dialogue, discourse, debate, and knowledge are all good things. Sometimes amid those things, however, one has to truly look for that which is most essential. (An interesting contrast and message among the three posts quoted above.) June ponders...

Take gentle care.

That day of unity will come at the pre tribulational rapture event at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb of those found abiding in Him as the chaste bride kept by Him and presented faultless by Him.

And yet because of the falling away from the faith, judgment will fall on the House of God first so as to restore the wayward to the path of righteousness for His name's sake, thus the foolish virgins will have oil for their lamps and the prodigal sons will discover he is "still" son.

Jesus had questioned Peter three times if he had loved Him and Peter answered three times that he did to which Jesus had responded by saying..."Feed My sheep".

So the lack of unity or the lack of fellowship is the war of principality being engaged here as no believer should be having fellowship with works of darkness but rather reprove them in dtermining the will of God to be found abiding in Him and thus redeeming the time for the days are evil.

Love seeks to correct. It is not love to ignore and allow a brother or sister to wander on in labouring in unbelief or in sin.
Enow, I smiled and chuckled at this because I could almost feel your passion for Christ.
The events of Peter have taught me so much, to be faithful to my Lord, never deny Him and never scatter from Him when times get tough. Just praise Him more and more.

God bless you mightily!
Mercy
