I guess one could say that God is the originator of bashing the false denonimations. Some that come to mind are:
the many false gods the Egyptians had
which most of the ten plagues were directed at
the sun god Dushara and the goddess Allat
two of the chief god's in Edom
Dagon
the chief god of the Philistines
the male moon-god, "Yerach," and the female sun-god, "Shamash,"
the two gods of the city of Jericho (Later in history, these were changed to Baal and Ashteroth.)

If we were all children of God it would nullify the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ.It would be no need for the New Birth. No change would be necessary .Also there would be no choice involved which violates our free will.

It would nullify nothing. The reason Christ was sent is because we are all God's children and He wanted us to know that through Christ's life, teaching, death and resurrection (rebirth as spirit) . . . "no greater Love hath a man . . ." God is not wasteful. He would not create merely to destroy the majority of His creation.
How often have you heard people confidently proclaim, “We are all God’s children� It is as though to suggest that nothing in this world could every separate anyone from God, who will one day simply proclaim, “kids will be kids,†as he ‘winks at’ the wicked, rebellious lives of many. This is actually a lie of Satan, designed to keep people complacent and oblivious to God’s very purpose for man in this life: “That we enter into the eternal spiritual life and relationship God offers all through Jesus Christ. Sadly, many will refuse God’s offer and will not receive true life or enter into God’s eternal kingdom … now or forever.
While all people are naturally born into this world as God’s creation, only those who believe and trust God for true life in Christ Jesus … are ‘born again’ as God’s ‘adopted’ sons and daughters (through the indwelling power of God’s Holy Spirit). Those without Christ are not born again to Spiritual life and do not have the indwelling Holy Spirit. To them, the things of God are foolishness, because they are spiritually discerned (2 Cor 2:14-15) --- Jesus told Nicodemus (John 3), “Unless you are born again, you will not enter the Kingdom of heaven†--- He did not say, “But, not to worry; if you are not born again, our ‘loving God’ is sure to make many exceptions.â€
Just a few of many Bible passages that affirm our choice in this ‘adoption’ include: “Come out from among them … and I will be as a Father to you (2 Cor 6:17-18); “You are of your father the devil (John 8:44); “Those without the Son, have neither the Father or the Son†(1 John 2:23); “…that we might receive the adoption of Sons (Gal 4:5). There are many other examples, but, the bottom line is that spiritual rebirth and ‘adoption’ into God’s family is the only basis for spiritual life and relationship with God … in this life or the next.
Since starting this thread, I keep getting DM's and Reps from folks who believe it has helped them see the truth in a commonly-held belief ... that isn't really true. We ARE all God's creation, but, we ARE NOT all God's Children. Perhaps it's time to renew the thread again!

Hi Jghorton. It is unfortunate that people misunderstand or deliberately disregard what Scripture says about this. As you said, it is true that we are all God's creation, but that we are not all God's children. No one is a child of God by natural birth. It is only through adoption that we enter into a family relationship with God. And that adoption is conditioned upon receiving Christ as Savior. This is clearly stated in John 1:12 and Gal. 3:26.
John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name,
Gal. 3:26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
Entrance into the family of God is predicated upon believing in Christ Jesus. God, foreknowing who would receive Christ as Savior, predestined those who believe to adoption as sons so that Jesus would be the firstborn among many brethren.
Eph. 1:5 He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, 6] to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.
Rom. 8:29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;
Prior to our receiving Christ as Savior we are all sons of disobedience and belong to Satan's kingdom of darkness. When we believe in Christ for eternal salvation we are transferred from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of His beloved Son.
Eph. 2:1 And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, 2] in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience.
Col. 1:13 For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, 14] in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
We are all God's children and all children of the devil. There are TWO seeds in every person. God has planted his seed and the devil has planted his. Why else would there be the big inner battle going on?

Funny, Jesus said to remain in His word. Could be the problem.
