Deuteronomy 32:4
He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

Maybe women are to be silent in church after having taught the men as children in the ways that they should teach. Allowing them the responsibility as men to either honor their mothers or damn themselves once they step behind the pulpit? Men sometimes choose to ignore the 5th Commandment.---Honor thy father and thy MOTHER.
Mothers are given the greater responsibility to teach not only their children but other women in the ways of love/God/Bible, so that they will know WHAT to preach and teach once they are grown.

Yeshua Bless You

Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.

We could go round and round on this...but God the father set up the family. Traditionally men are to care for the women, men are to provide, to protect, to lead.

The strength of a woman is a compliment to men, they provide the stability of the home, nurture and teach the next generation.
But men are charged with the responsibility.

Do you think these people only stayed home and made food? Do you think in their service they were any less than Paul, Peter, or the other leaders of the church? I'm with Mystic on this one. People who worship the bible, not the G-d of the bible, people who worship history, not the G-d of history would look at these individuals and see them as less in the church. They were indeed equal inheritors of G-d's grace and church leaders. What does that mean?

G-d is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Move past the culture and the patriarchy. This is the same thing that Deadwood is referencing as well. Forget for a moment the soft voice and the smaller figure these women project: do you hear G-d's spirit in them? Are they talking a sound doctrine? I've been blessed by many women in the church pulpit. Wow, check yourself to see if you have G-d's spirit and not just indigestion that can be fantasized as leading you into all good things. Anyone who believes less will simply be scrounging for food and looking to fill their lamps, not at the banquet with our Lord and Savior at the end of eternity.
Or the praise lavished on the four daughters of Philip, who prophesied to others?

And, of course, there's this from Luke 2:36-38:

36 And there was a prophetess, Anna the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years and had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage, 37 and then as a widow to the age of eighty-four. She never left the temple, serving night and day with fastings and prayers. 38 At that very moment she came up and began giving thanks to God, and continued to speak of Him to all those who were looking for the redemption of Jerusalem. 39 When they had performed everything according to the Law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee, to their own city of Nazareth. 40 The Child continued to grow and become strong, increasing in wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him.

Odd how a woman could be mentioned as speaking in the temple "to all who were looking for the redemption of Jerusalem" in Luke, and really having a significant effect on Christ's early life and that of His family. If she were unimportant, why mention her at all? And if it were apostasy for women to teach in temple, then why isn't Anna driven out of synagogue, particularly in Christ's presence? Evidently, this was not only accepted but, because of the way it is cited in scripture, endorsed.

Can women teach? Yes--there are some women very knowledgeable and that are gifted speakers. But we need to ask the question "What does the Bible say?" The Bible says no...women are not to be pastors. The Bible lists as a requirement that it be a man--specifically a one-woman man. This is not to suggest in any way that women are inferior--it's just that we have different roles.

1 Tim 3:2 "An overseer, then, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, prudent, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,"

In addition to that, a woman should not hold authority in the church. It's not a cultural thing--as Paul compares it to the order of creation. This is something that applies to the entire human race.

"But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but remain quiet. For it was Adam who was first created, and then Eve. And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being quite deceived, fell into transgression," (1 Tim. 2:12-14 -- all quotes from the Bible are from the NASB).

Further proof of the bible's irrelevance today.

Only Paul says that women are somehow different. People are fond of pulling only their own beliefs from the Bible. Seek God first and what He says---count the number of times that GOD says different and contradictory things. No respect of persons for any purpose.
