The only unforgivable sin is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. This means you do not have to be a follower of Christ to gain entry to heaven. There are many paths that lead to the same destination.

Default What Is God's Plan For Salvation?

God's plan for salvation has already been accomplished by Jesus. It is finished. What remains is God's plan for us to achieve our purpose in existing . . . and it isn't merely to believe the right things!!!! We are to produce as much agape love within our consciousness as possible during our life here on earth. We do that by following Christ's instructions to His disciples to "love God and each other" DAILY and repent when we don't. That is God's ultimate plan . . . for us to achieve our purpose.

Jehovah God ,(Exo. 6:3 and Psa. 83:18), sent his son Jesus, But NOT just to die, for us as MANY seem to think. But also to teach us a way to follow him ,(John 3:16 and John 15:15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you). MANY believe they are saved once they get baptized, That NOT all true! YES!... the first step IS... to get baptized. But sadly many don't understand what that meant! It's a promise to Jehovah God that we will try our best to do his WILL. Jesus showed us ,just because we call on him ,(Jesus), doesn't NOT mean we will be saved. He said we MUST do HIS Father's WILL ,(Matt. 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven). This will give us life. peace

God's purpose for providing salvation for fallen mankind is to bring many sons into glory through Jesus Christ (Romans 8:28-30; 2 Timothy 1:9). God's plan of salvation involved Jesus coming into the world as a member of the human race, but without sin, and remaining without sin, and then going to the Cross to die for all the sins in the history of the human race, past, present, and future.

Therefore, Christ died for all so that anyone who believes on Him has eternal life.

Some claim that Jesus only died for the elect - limited atonement. But a simple comparison of two verses (there are others) show that Christ died for all.
1 Cor. 15:22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.
In Adam all die.
2 Corinthians 5:14 For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died.
1 Corinthians 15:22 tells us that all die in Adam, while 2 Corinthians 5:14 tells us that since Christ died for all, then all died. Jesus paid for the sins of all who are in Adam. That's all of us.

2 Corinthians 5:15 then tells us that Christ died for all so that those who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf.

Now Christ died for all, but only the person who has believed on Christ is 'in Christ'.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes on Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

You are correct that Christ saved us ALL, Mike . . . but you are wrong that it involves ANYTHING we DO. It is a done deal, period. We are left with sanctification under His grace and love for us all to achieve our purpose through "love of God and each other" DAILY and repent when we don't.

Christ made salvation available to all by His finished work on the cross. But no one is saved until they first place their faith in Christ. While Jesus paid the penalty for the sins of the world with His spiritual death on the Cross, there is still the matter of justification which does not occur until a person believes on Christ at which point God imputes His own perfect righteousness, as well as His life - eternal life, to those who believe.
Romans 3:24 being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; 25] whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed; 26] for the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

Romans 4:1[/b] What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh, has found? 2] For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. 3] For what does the Scripture say? "ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD, AND IT WAS CREDITED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS." 4] Now to the one who works, his wage is not credited as a favor, but as what is due. 5] But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness,

Romans 5:1 Therefore, having been justified by faith (in Christ Jesus), we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
The imputation of God's righteousness is said to be a gift which is received by grace through faith in Christ Jesus. This is why despite the fact that Jesus died for all the sins of all the world a person can still be lost. The work of Christ made our justification possible, but apart from believing on Christ, God does not impute or credit His righteousness to us. And without having God's perfect righteousness imputed to us, we have only our own imperfect righteousness which is not acceptable to God, and so we remain spiritually dead to God.

Faith in Christ is non-meritorious. We can not take any credit for believing on Christ. But we must believe on Christ before God credits us with His perfect righteousness by which means we become acceptable to God. Those who die never having believed on Christ remain under condemnation forever.
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes on Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

God had a plan from day zero. Adam did not mess things up.
