Seems to me what he did 'do' was that he was remorseful and 'repented'. - 2nd Peter 3:9.

I found it interesting that those hours while they were dying, that Jesus used that time to preach and teach to the thief.
We only have a few brief words recorded for us, but they could have talked back and forth for quite a while.
During the coming millennium-long day when Jesus governs over a beautiful paradisical Earth, in that paradise setting, the thief will have a happy-and-healthy physical resurrection back to live life on Earth, and at that thousand-year time we can ask him directly what he did 'do' other than believed what Jesus taught him.

I was wondering if you could please clarify your post on that last sentence which read:
" Jesus had to be resurrected to give all who believe life. "- Revelation 1:18.
If his God had Not resurrected Jesus, then there would be No hope for believers, and people of the nations especially those who died before Jesus died as per John 3:13, which includes King David as per Acts 2:34.

If Jesus had been a typical JW, he would have shunned eveyone present, threatened them all with annihilation and passed around a Watchtower or Awake cult tract about 1914 or 1975 or whenever the Governing Body says everyone has to break out the tin foil hats. LOL

1Cor 11:19 For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.
Millions across the land live in fear that if they don't lead perfect lives they will be tossed. The opposite is true for real believers.......
Jude 24 24 Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, (It's Gods POWER that keeps you not yours)
Eph 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were SEALED for the day of redemption.
Romans in authority had signet rings to stamp in hot wax SEALING documents and other things. The penalty for breaking the seal was death. We note in the above verse we are sealed until redemption, that makes it permanent.
In Hebrews 3 believers were encouraged to enter God's rest......relax in the knowledge you are secure

And now to wrap it up God emphatically says nothing can take His believers from Him........if someone or some group is telling you that you can be lost, run don't walk out the door......

Romans 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Grace and peace and strive to enter into rest.......you are secure if your trust is in Christ.....
Not someone else, Not some group, but what about those of Hebrews 6:4-6 ?

Sure, No one can take one out of God's safe hands except for the person himself he can remove himself.- John 10:29
So, only the person himself can remove himself, No one else can.

Those of Matthew 12:32 who committed the unforgivable sin ' removed ' themselves.

God's servant Paul who wrote Romans also wrote to the Corinthians.
At 1st Corinthians 9:27 Paul was concerned he could end up as a castaway.
So, Paul cautions at 1st Corinthians 10:12 Not to be over confidant lest you should fall (away).

So, it is No wonder Jesus taught at Matthew 24:13 that it is the one who endures to the end is saved.
Salvation ( deliverance / rescue ) comes at the end.
Either faithful to death, or faithful to the soon coming ' time of separation ' to take place on Earth as per Matthew 25:31-33,37,40 when those figurative humble ' sheep'-like people can remain alive on Earth, and continue to live on Earth right into the start of calendar Day One of Jesus' coming 1,000-year governmental rule over Earth.

He exhibited the crucial state of mind, mercy, compassion and agape love.

Who has raised anyone higher by judging them. It only condemns. That is why it says the Father judges no-one, but all judgement is entrusted to the Son - that is you and I, examining ourselves. For God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not counting their sins against them. ...of course, people are stricken with grief over the sh1t that happens in this realm, and we grieve with them. But it is a passing illusion. We are Spirit.

Died and paid in full the wages of his sin. Every grave will be emptied in the resurrection into Gods kingdom--to judgement. It didn't mean he was granted life everlasting.
And in that statement Jesus made to the thief---every trinity translation has the comma in the wrong spot

Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise= error
Truly I tell you today, you will be with me in paradise.

Fact--Jesus was in the grave( Hades) for 3 days--impossible to be in paradise the first day as the error comma suggests.
