I did answer the question. I clearly told you that there is no need to make a commitment in order to be saved. Commitment belongs to the spiritual life after salvation. The spiritual life does require commitment and as such is meritorious.

But that has nothing to do with salvation. Believing in Christ is non-meritorious and is a completely different issue than the spiritual life after salvation. There is nothing complicated about this and shouldn't be hard to understand.

As I said, just an assertion in contravention to what Jesus taught. The question was whether that commitment was a "work of merit" in contrast to "believe," which you assert is not.

Just answer the question.

Someone who is paralyzed, can't speak, and can't see, can in their spirit, believe the gospel and be saved. That is non-meritorious.

But they can't "in their spirit" commit to a basis in love? Seriously?

Even atheism requires a great deal of faith, but having faith in something which is not true is pointless.

Sure they can. However, it has nothing to do with salvation.

It takes faith to believe in that which you have not seen, no faith is required from someone who doesn't believe.

Jesus taught repentance because He was talking to Jews still under OT rules. The conditions for salvation changed when Christ died ad rose from the dead and ascended to the Father in heaven.

Apparently, you received a free pass without making any changes?
