What US city makes the best Mexican food?

Los Angeles' Mexican food I hear is laughable, but it does lack some taste...although that statement is exagerated.
DFW (why is it on there twice? Just put DFW) is alright, San Antonio is pretty good...
You missed El Paso, which HAS AWESOME Mexican food, right up there with Albuquerque.
Although no city compares to real Mexican food, and I'm of Mexican descent and make trips to Mexico quite often so If that tell you what I've experienced.
Houston, I've never tried their Mexican food, and even if I had it wouldn't be enough to make a valid conclusion that it's awesome or sucks as I would of eaten there a whopping 5 times? What I've had is pretty good.
The Baja Mexican food, if respectively different from the rest of Mexico. The Northern food is also different then the Southern food.
So I mean its hard to compare, basically two different cusines.
I haven't tried San Diego Mexican either, but I have eaten Baja. If its anything like I had in Mexico it's alright...
Las Vegas...really? How could you miss El Paso?? Pheonix is not too bad, but If i HAD to rank them.

Depends on the type of Mexican food. Just like there a lot of different types of American foods and Chinese foods, there are different kinds of Mexican food.

In my opinion:
Tex-mex: San Antonio
Cali-mex / Baja mex: San Diego

The best Mexican food I have ever had in my entire life has been in Albuquerque. I mean, there's good Mexican food in any city if you look hard enough. But in ABQ you could smell it in the air. It's everywhere. And I can't wait to go back to ABQ and have some more!

Does Tijuana count as being part of San Diego?? If so then I say San Diego, it's really not that much trouble to cross into Mexico for a few hours and taste REAL mexican food.

Austin, Texas has excellent Mexican food, the best in the country i've tasted

I would say Chicago and all major cities west of it have tons of Mexicans and have good food. New York does not have good Mexican food, at least from the restaurants I've tried.

Albuquerque's Mexican food is different cause its called New Mexican food, its a mix of Mexican/Native American/European influence. It is more flavorful than Mexican food and usually hotter, you can get red chile enchiladas with blue corn tortillas and a batch of sopapillas with it, you can even get a fried egg on top of your enchiladas like alot of people do,damn good too. New Mexican food uses red and green chile and ground beef more and fried potatoes while Mexican uses more steak meat,green and red sauces or salsas and rice, we use alot of rice here too though.


You can still find Mexican food here too ,there are plenty of down south food joints here,some with the Northern Mexico(Juarez) cuisine and a few with the coastal Mexican cuisine(Aacapulco,Mexico City).

I think New Mexico and Louisians are the only states that have their own food and type of music.
