It’s varaison time in the valley when the grapes go from green to purple. The sugars are starting to build within the fruit.

One of the state’s largest cycling events is held every year in GJ: The Tour of the Moon - a ride through the Colorado National Monument and Fruita then back to GJ. It was held today. I rode it with 1700 of my closest friends.

There is a newer model car made by Hyundai, and the model is called Palisade. It is a beautiful moderately larger SUV model. Kia now has the Telluride model. It's cool that the auto manufacturers picked up on these names from our state for new car models. Some friends bought the Palisade 3 years ago and absolutely love it. Their version they call "luxurious".

Colorado is truly a beautiful state. We lived there for a brief six months in the '70s while my husband completed a practicum. Couldn't believe how much more traffic had increased the last time we were there. Driving into the mountains from Denver was a long, slow parade.

When we were in Grand Junction we had to make a special stop at Enstrom's Toffee and stock up. We treated ourselves to caramel apples for breakfast!
