To answer Jay's question ∆

Common for large franchise groups to own an independent coop to maximize buying power. Owned by the franchisee's.

So while they work close with the Franchisor, they are independent.
So no, not in the same space.

I don’t remember if this was posted and discussed or not but Connecticut had one of the fastest growing economies last year. For years we have seen front page headlines about how slow our economy was growing, why wasn’t this on the front page rather than buried in the Business section, if at all covered? Jay

There’s a proposal in the Connecticut State Legislature to eliminate the property tax on motor vehicles. That seems to be one of the most disliked taxes we pay. The problem is how do make up for the lost revenue? What do you think? Jay

They'll have to make up the revenue somewhere, so they'll just shift it to the real property taxes. Seems more like window dressing than anything else.

Just when you think Connecticut Democrats couldn't get stupider.

A new tax on insurance companies would expand state health care coverage in Connecticut. Company executives say it could drive more businesses out of the state.

Biting the hand that feeds you is an obsession of Connecticut Democrats.

More ominous Subway corp news likely?

Due diligence is expensive and only undertaken by corps serious about desiring to buy other corps. That's a game-changing event.

Great article in today's Courant.

#2 Connecticut | Runner-up for the worst state for taxpayers is Connecticut, where the 37% tax rate means residents pay about $11,600 in taxes per year. Imposing a seemingly small 1.03% vehicle tax property tax rate makes Connecticut the fifth-worst state in that category. (Walter Bibikow/Getty Images)
