The first article you posted is someone's opinion of the stadium. They mention a proposed development for the site that had been proposed years ago but has gone no where. I doubt it is anything that is real or would ever get built. I do however question the cost of the stadium being used. To me it seems very pricey in comparision to others that have been built for minor league teams.

Your second article has nothing to do with the stadium project. It is about the conversion of an old bilding on Capitol Avenue to apartments. Jay

I saw this piece in the Courant today and I had no idea that the state foots the bill for over half of Hartford's budget.

Jay, the stadium itself (per Thom Deller) will be $51-52 Mil, the extra $8 Mil includes the purchase of the lot next to 12B for 2M and the realignment of the 4 streets. 51-52M is on par with the cost of a stadium this size. In Lehigh Valley they constructed Coca Cola Park for $55Mil (2014 $) & the Reno Aces also built their stadium for $55Mil (2014 $). Reno Aces ballpark holds 9,100 and CCP holds 10,100.

From reading further articles it appears this ballpark will only seat about 6600. The 9000_ capacity is with standing room, picnic areas, and other non-seats. That means the new ballpark's capacity is only about 500 fans more than the current park in New Britain.

It looks like the City of Hartford is looking for partners to shoulder the risk of the "DoNo" project. Basically it looks like the City will pay the bills and the RECM will design/construct. Pretty standard practice.

Public/Private Partnership is big in other States. We'll see who comes out. The schedule looks a bit aggressive but now-a-days which project isn't under pressure.
