Before cooler air changes the landscape, someone ought to take photos for the record books of what a New England landscape looks like after exposed to 5 relentless weeks of heat and dewpoints above the 70 mark.

Do we see tropical flora creeping in? Could we have seized the opportunity to have had local coconut produce for Thai restaurants like Blue Elephant? Maybe we could have had some Sicilian Italian American descendants plant some Sicilian crops. We should have taken advantage of the odd growing season.

On another note, Rome, Italy is the same latitude from equator as Windsor Locks, CT and Europe gets the warm climate per its latitude. A fun way to look at the unseasonal warmth is this year we get to be Southern Europe. Southern Italy in summer does get humidity but with dewpoints in the mid-60s highs in the 90s and sunny day after day. Hot/humid but less nippy. But humid enough that anyone who has toured the Vatican can tell you they take off their pants as soon as the tour is finished if visiting Rome in July.

Yes, very far out (and probably never going to happen), but it's nice to see the 540 that far south!

You guys ready for winter?

Home Depot is. Lol.

Wondering if these should be replaced with Generators instead.

I'd rather live in Miami than Seattle. Didn't love the heat and humidity but it's still the lesser of two evils compared to the gray weather of yesterday and today.

Will it ever dry out?! Long sleeve shirt to work outside because I was cold with the breeze and now I'm drenched in sweat due to the humidity. My lawn's been wet for days

In Spring and Fall I would agree. Gimme sun! In Summer gimme clouds! Especially when you're coming from the muggiest summer on record and a heat wave I'll take clouds for eternity. lol.

60s at lunchtime. When was the last time we said that?

Clouds are stretched north of the stalled front. Remnants of Gordon producing flooding and 3-10" of rain in MO, IL, & IN

Interesting how the actual front is stalled over Virginia but all the clouds are as far north as the Canadian border. I wonder why. Residual surface humidity?

I'll take sun all the time. People would hate it if we had a stretch of gray skies in the middle of summer even if it kept things cool. But it's hard to test that theory because while we get plenty of party cloudy/hazy weather, we really get a solid wall of gray like yesterday and today in the middle of summer.
