The most annoying part is the engineers documented the "man made" wetlands would dry up in 6-7 years and won't even exist.

The opposition to this development is likely purely ideological, and they're probably not expecting to win the fight. Still, though, the concerns are valid, and we, as a rule, should have some pause before paving over "green" space.
(And yes, what happens at dusk in this particular meadow is that you see the beauty of the glow of Interstate Drive)
