I've been having a look at the gofundme site, I have a couple of friends who have also used it to raise monies for various reasons. From what I have read unless the money is donated to a registered charity or non-profit then it is taxable. Am I reading this right ?

Either way another $155 doesn't go far with type of care they are providing for her.

That's correct; if you are not a registered charity/non-profit, it's simply considered as income.

Agree that $155 is not going to go far with the kind of expenses they are doubtless incurring.

I find is very suspicious there have been no leaks regarding where Jahi is being kept. In the back of my mind, I wonder if she has already been laid to rest. Unless of course, she is kept at home.

The Part II of the nurse's take on all this covers this topic thoroughly. It is thought that she has a small army of very loyal people helping to nurse and take care of Jahi. Don't forget the grandmother is a nurse and probably called on her nursing friends.

Yes, K.Z. the CRNA was thorough about this and other in her two guest columns.

I agree with all of you, that isn't a lot of money for vent care. But, we have no way to know if treatment is donated, if meds are donated etc.

Don't be shrprised if Dr. Paul Byrne writes something soon. He will mention how much this mother loves her daughter. I have no reason or proof to doubt that. I think she does love her daughter. If you read something from Dr. Byrne, omit the part about the mother's or family's love. Then what are you left with in his statements? What specifically does he say about treatment and specific "improvement?"
So far, nothing specific and nothing that gives the date.

I find it kind of interesting, that when this all started, reports said that her body would only last for a few weeks at most, on the ventilator. Weeks seems to be turning into months.

Highly unlikely. I believe that there is a standing court order that her body be returned to the coroner for an autopsy.

Hi KaaBoom, Thanks for posting.

I have the same understanding as you about the coroner. However, I have to say it is confusing to me to think how that will be accomplished.

It will be accomplished because the family doesn't want to lose the chance of winning big time with a lawsuit against the hospital. Deliberately ignoring a court order to turn the body over to the coroner isn't going to help them win a lawsuit. It makes them look like they are trying to hide something.

That is, unless they really did feed Jahi pieces of hamburger {in front of witnesses} and know they don't have a chance at winning a lawsuit anyway.

I would expect that when her heart stops beating, the coroner will come and pick up the body, and perform an autopsy.
