Stories are starting to appear on the internet .. from dubious sources so far.. that are saying Freddy had spine surgery two weeks before his encounter .
Court records show he was trying for some kind of settlement of some type of injury

If BPD did not belt him in they are on the hook... if they didn't get him medical attention they are on the hook

Source does look like some random far-right, Republican news site but if there's any truth to this.........it still doesn't justify what happened to Gray, the guy was demanding medical attention, even if the cops thought he was b******tting, its really not their call to make, get a medical professional to determine that and THEN take him to jail.

I question the source, especially since nobody else but fringe right-wing sites and blogs are reporting this. I try to keep and an open mind, if this is legitimate, I would expect it to be picked up by some other media as well. Even if it is legit, in the grand scheme of things, the police are still guilty of neglect.
When a guy says he needs medical attention, you get him medical attention and then figure out the rest later. Unless these police officers were mind-readers, you really don't know who is just malingering and who is genuinely in need of treatment. If its true that he was coming off a recent spine surgery, then the pain he went through would have been agonizing.
