I'm glad they did that. Hopefully other businesses will do the same.

Re my post earlier today about the Japanese drug Favipiravir, I found an article about it:

China reports new progress in drug, therapies against Covid-19

Quote:
More than 80 patients have participated in the clinical trial in The Third People's Hospital of Shenzhen, south China's Guangdong Province, including 35 patients taking Favipiravir and 45 patients on a control group.

Results showed that patients receiving Favipiravir treatment turned negative for the virus in a shorter time compared with patients in the control group.

A multi-centred randomised clinical study led by the Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University also suggested that the therapeutic effect of Favipiravir is much better than that of the control group.

Favipiravir has been recommended to medical treatment teams and should be included in the diagnosis and treatment plan for Covid-19 as soon as possible, Zhang said.
Quote:
China is also pushing forward the utilization of some advanced technologies such as stem cell and artificial liver and blood purification in the treatment of severe cases.

Zhang said stem cell therapy proves effective in reducing severe inflammatory reactions caused by Covid-19, as well as reducing lung injury and pulmonary fibrosis in patients.
etc.

Sorry, but for some reason you keep bringing us lies.

The US has a rate of 18 total cases per 1 million people vs 12 in Canada, even with the lack of test kits in the US that everyone has been hearing about.

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

In terms of deaths, as of today the total death toll from Coronavirus in the US is 99, probably 110 by the end of the day, whereas in Canada is only 5. The US would need to be at 42 for you to say they are similar.

It's so bizarre to me that anyone would make measures to stop the virus from spreading about national egos. This is a human issue. Most cases are the result of Canadians returning from other places. It makes human sense to isolate yourself as much as possible, and it's only logical to expand that to national borders. This is as much for the safety of people on the other side of the border as it is for people on this side.

Today Manitoba's cases almost doubled to 15. BC reported an increase of 84 cases. For the love of God I would hope that people would isolate themselves. You never know if the life you save is your own.

I have not come across a complaint from the Europeans or Asians, or whatever about closed borders on their end or on Canada's end. We should have closed borders sooner. To everyone. And yes, that includes Americans. Some trucking should be allowed through and that's it. It's incomprehensible that it hasn't been done. There should be no travel between provinces within Canada. The only traffic moving should be truckers moving essential goods and Canadians returning home.

I agree. I think they should actually go ahead and declare a state of a emergency. Many people are not isolating, many people are not practicing social distancing and still going out to restaurant and bars.

Looks like everyone is on the same page:

The United States and Canada are preparing to issue a joint statement in the next 24-48 hours to suspend non-essential travel between the two countries, a Trump administration official tells CNN.

The agreement is not yet finalized and officials are still working to define "non-essential travel," but the official stressed that the new restrictions will ensure that business and trade between the two countries can continue.

That spectre of falling ill while below the border and then being subject to the resultant chaos has us going through the travel preps at a clip this year. The smart thing to have done would have been when this was first being discussed to have started packing, performing the storage of the Fla car and shutting off the guest bathroom etc., etc., but THAT would have been the smart thing and …… well …..

Tomorrow AM - lift off.

Again; thanks for your best wishes.
