You’re welcome, Zoisite. The CBC’s factual reporting is good but I have wished that they would also take a more critical look at how the government is handling the situation.

Hahahaha. Money laundering! That's funny. You should post that link for PacoMartin to see on his contactless payments thread that he started. He loves colourful pictures!

We decided to drive home this year to avoid the whole metal tube, petrie dish, incubator, experience and I've got the nitrile gloves for fueling up the car. This year will sure be a different kind of migration north.

Friends are shopping for us at the other end so our plan is to just arrive and self isolate by hunkering down for a couple of weeks of staying home and walking to our mailbox being the only outdoor experience.

This brings a better understanding of the old saying about the plans of mice and men being so easily impacted by higher powers.

As said above; we hope for all to coast through this with being nothing but better educated for the experience.

Best wishes folks.
Safe travels, BruSan.

I can vouch for the fact that bills come out of the laundry as good as new and unwrinkled.

Have a safe trip!

Self quarantine. I'm not sure how I could handle it being that I live in a one bedroom. Lots of light, but I think I'd go bonkers.

A friend is self quarantined, it's been five days so far. Seems to be coping, but he has access to outside space.

More friends arriving back who will also self quarantine. Interesting times.

Thanks to all who've expressed wishes for our safe return.

The news continues to escalate the feeling of "urgency" and with our shopping foray today we noticed again the empty shelves of T/P, paper towels, Kleenex, handi-wipes etc.

Have noticed houses being closed up already whereas in previous years, you wouldn't have seen that until at least end of April.

We were joking with American friends while at the pool today that we had chosen a route to cross at Windsor or Sarnia instead of Ft. Erie because the possible likelihood of being in forced quarantine at the border in a newer arena. Finding humour where we can during this strange occurrence.

Another bit of humour; our Florida car is a seven pass minivan and it performs routing duty ferrying wives to the Costco over in Brandon. During the last foray in Dec. my wife returned with a couple of those huge bundles of T/P bringing our total count to over 96 rolls.

The women she took over there have remembered and now, guess what role we're playing - everybody's desperate go-to for an emergency roll of T/P . You can imagine the fun we're having with every ring of the doorbell ---- at least I'm winding down my beer and liquor supply at the same time. This is more fun than trick or treating. LOL.

Next year, this could turn into a theme night dinner. Bring a roll, take a roll sort of thing.

Nat; think of the opportunity to learn new skills - order up a 4X8 sheet of ply to lay on your bed and learn to play ping-pong against the wall. Buy a spotting scope from CanTire and learn all sorts of new things about your neighbourhood. Meet all sorts of new people by putting your phone number on little pieces of paper with "free phone sex" - toss them out the window when it's really windy. Practice your Morse code on the wall with your neighbour.

Give me a minute or two and I'll think up some more - -

Pornhub is making its premium content free for those afflicted by the virus in Italy. That is a pretty nice thing to do. Help people get their mind off this madness.

@Natnasci I was thinking how lucky I am to have hundreds of acres to roam around in without ever once coming into contact with people. In comparison to people in places with small apartments where you can't go outside without breathing someone else's air, I feel very lucky. And come springtime if worse came to worse, I could grow my own food. Hopefully nothing will come to that though.

I desperately don't want to pass anything along to my parents.
