I will be at Sea World Orlando on Sunday. Theme parks and the rest of society will go on regardless of what spikes in Covid tests show. Government won’t be able to lock down again. They tried that once and it caused a lot of problems.

I don’t think theme parks will continue to operate if cases continue to rise in their states. Disneyland already scrapped their opening, and I would bet at this moment that Disney world will as well.

A Disneyland spokesperson said that the reason for the delayed opening was that the State of California did not plan to even potentially give permission for theme parks to operate, until too late for them to make their planned July 17 opening date.
They did NOT say that they felt reopening would be unsafe. Now, maybe they did feel that way, but nevertheless they officially laid it all on the state government:
Quote:
Given the time required for us to bring thousands of cast members back to work and restart our business, we have no choice but to delay the reopening of our theme parks and resort hotels until we receive approval from government officials. Once we have a clearer understanding of when guidelines will be released, we expect to be able to communicate a reopening date."

Yeah. Today, all the bars in Florida were shut down for the second time. Miami just announced they were closing the beaches and parks. All over Florida stuff is shutting down, but Disney is planning to reopen. It's 100% wishful thinking. Disney will either find an excuse to cancel the reopening, just like they did in California, or they will just wait for the state to cancel the reopening, which ever comes first.
This is not Asia. The pandemic is not even close to being over here, by a long shot.

Bars did not “shut down.”
They can’t serve alcohol at the bar. You can still go in there and socialize, drink something that doesn’t contain alcohol, smoke, or order alcohol and drink it outside.
Or, if it’s a restaurant/bar, you can drink all you want at the tables.
Nothing is “shut down.”
And the beaches are closing FOR JULY 4TH WEEKEND. They are currently very much open. My kids are out at the beach with their mother for the weekend.

Your state's reopening has been an epic failure. You are now at ground zero in the pandemic. The situation is 100 times worse then when Disney shut down. There is a snowball's chance in hell, that Disney World will reopen in this environment.

The media outlets would have you believe that we are all in a state of panic.
No, the situation is not "100 times worse." It was bad when Disney shut down, as no one knew what to expect, and literally everything WAS shutting down. Everyone was scared and/or concerned.
That is no longer the case. Precautions are being taken, and there has been a major increase in testing, but a much lower rate of fatalities, and a much lower rate of harsh symptoms.
Considering how everything else has been steadily opening, and with success, aside from bars (blame drunk college kids and frat boys for this nonsense,) AND the fact that Disney Springs (DISNEY!!! https://www.fanthatracks.com/news/mi...isney-springs/) has been open for some time now, and with success as well, what in the world makes you think that, unless DeSantis orders otherwise (he won't... Too much backlash from the public, and he cares about his reputation and the economy more than anything) the parks won't open?
Oh, and all of the other parks are open. You really think Disney will let everyone else swallow up all of the tourist money? It's Disney we're talking about.
Theme parks certainly can't "go on" if they're closed.
Aside from Disney, they're currently ALL open here... And Disney World is soon to follow. Disney Springs is already open.
