I saw it. I should've said it was a confirmation he had speeded or raced before. He's getting out of adult charge but how long could they keep him in a juvenile facility? The driving without a license in combination with speeding offenses so close together should've merited harsher punishment before the crash. I can't believe the old mans insurance didn't take a hit before the crash although if he's in between renewals the point is moot.
Racing or speeding before can’t be used against him if he was never charged with anything before. And not having a license and speeding are not criminal offenses so wouldn’t add to the sentence.
He does already have a record of speeding, hopefully they will take that into consideration and not let this be a slap on the wrist.
I doubt it will be used to add to the sentence because it’s not criminal it’s a traffic citation. Traffic tickets don’t count as having a criminal record.
There's stiff penalty in America that penalizes someone for involuntary vehicle manslaughter. It's all a matter of costs associated with the civil trial. He'll get probably 12 months in jail then the civil trial will take only 2 months to complete will likely be a 1-2 million dollar penalty.

He's not going to get a harsh punishment. Hopefully he is as remorseful as he claimed to be in court and he will change his ways now and not be a spoiled, entitled brat like he was.
His mother wept in court. Where was she all the times he was speeding before, and getting citations? And had his license revoked?
Are the parents married? Divorced?
Married. One of the articles said she was against giving the car to him. It sounds like dad rules the roost.
