Bad in my opinion. They are a nationwide catering company that get contracted out to run cafeterias all over. They may be a big reason hospital cafeterias suck.

Sodexo varies from site to site depending upon the local contract standards and site expectations/management.

In some places, they're pretty good at what they do ... and their salad bar & soups, sometimes the specials of the day ... can easily rival the restaurants in town at a lower cost.

In Cheyenne, for example, Sodexo runs the LCCC food service and we eat there frequently for a lunch that's less money than the few better restaurants in town. As well, we've used their facilities for catering seminars and they've done a better job with food quality, prep, and presentation than the restaurants in town will do. Perhaps this is influenced by the college programs there and the management directives, but the results are there. Of course, they're not trying to compete with a higher class steakhouse and there's no alcohol there, but they're also not at the steakhouse price points. True, too, they're not competing on atmosphere ... and you get to bus your own table. I can accept that at the price point for the food quality and it's AYCE, too, at LCCC.

Additionally, Sodexo runs the food court at CRMC, and it's a cut above the salad bars at the restaurants in town.

Perhaps this is a sad commentary on the food service industry in Cheyenne (and much of Wyoming) ... but I've had better soup and salad bar food at Sodexo in Cheyenne than even in a bunch of restaurants in Old Town Ft Collins or in Denver where the hospitality competition is a huge marketplace. Is there better food available in those places? Yes, but at a substantially higher cost. I've been to a couple of the highly rated places along the Colfax Corridor from downtown on Eastward in the last year and it's typically cost $20/head (or more, before tips) for a nice lunch, eating nothing extravagant from their menus. In fact, I've left a few of those places still hungry after an expensive lunch. Sodexo is $8 and no tips.

The lunch combo of jumbalaya, cup of shrimp gumbo, shrimp etoufee was pretty darn good. Service wasn't great, we waited quite a while to have our orders taken, our food to arrive, our check to come, and have our checks returned.
OK, OK, it's 6:30 am; and I am now so hungry I may run all the way to downtown Denver!!! (since I am in El Paso county, that may not work) Jumbo shrimp stuffed w/crawfish and wrapped in bacon; suppose there is butter involved!!!! One of these days!! Yum, Yum!!!

Stopped at the new pierogie place on 38th and Wads last night. Apparently same guy who owns/owned the Polished Tavern.

Freaking awesome pierogie. I had the cheese and potato with a mushroom cheese sauce. AWESOME.

That is all.

Not that it's really news to anyone, but Illegal Pete's has some pretty wicked breakfast burritos.

I was bummed when they shut down the one in the Park Meadows area. I put them in the same class as Chipotle and Qdoba but their food is way better, IMHO.
