Something that I've been pondering. Being a libertarian, Paul's views don't fit exactly on either the left or right, but could easily be on the (D) side from his very liberal views on ending the wars, legalizing drugs, against bans on gay marriage etc,... I've noticed many of the hard right leaning members on this forum and others are supporters of Paul and I wonder if that's only because of that (R) or because they truly stand behind his views and would support him no matter what letter was next to his name.
There are no lefties who "protect and preserve the Constitution" so it's a moot point.

Of course there are. The only ones as of late that have been crapping on the constitution left and right are the R's, though don't let facts get in the way

I did not mention a particular party.
Lefties want to make change through the judiciary.

Right, and Obama vetoed the NDAA like he threatened he would do, right? WRONG!
The liar signed it after all! Both Parties are guilty of this mess! Assassinating people and indefinite detention of suspects without due process! Obama is right there with the rest of the fools trying to sell us out!
In a fantasy land. The GOP wiped their rears all over the constitution with the patriot act, DHS, calling for amends to the 14th, just yesterday during the debates most all but Paul want to enact even more big government and anti-constitutional legislation to bring supreme court justices before congress etc,..
The GOP pretends they are for less government and pro-constitution, but in reality that are for huge government and crapping on the constitution in every since of the word.
I disagree. His stance on Libya is a good example
of that. Paul & Kucinich share similar views
on ^^^ as well as on foreign policy and
the Fed.
Kucinich is a solid liberal democrat.
The right wingers will crap themselves and not believe it, but the libertarians and liberals are quite similar in their views.
Here is a good video with Paul and Nader to show this point.
