It would be interesting to know how many of those 121,000 Libertarian votes Cuccinelli might have picked up if he weren't a right-wing, anti-freedom extremist.
Virginia has historically only been a red state in Presidential elections. Of the last 29 governors only 6 have been republicans. This election was a no brainer.

Admittedly I'm using a computer right now that is so old I can't get real-times results nor maps, but why is everyone saying McAuliffe "has won"?

Do the maps show that pretty-much-guaranteed McAuliffe precincts have yet to be counted or something?

The Democrats will call McAwful's purchase of Virginia's governorship a mandate, while ignoring Christie's 25% trouncing of Buono in New Jersey.

if anything, this is proof that Government shut down did far more damage than the ACA did. But again, no one has called it yet other than FOX.

And how exactly is McAuliffe a creep ?
Are you really that clueless?

No, just Democrats with more money even though Cuccinelli had far more when you count super pacs. This is the same argument they used against Barack Obama.

There wasn't nearly a large enough lead in the 19th century southern end of Va to offset its economic engine, NOVA, and there wasn't a chance in h*ll they would vote for a radical right-winger.

Good to see the real Republican win in NJ-the non TP, good old fashioned moderate Chris Christie.

NJ & VA- The more mainstream win 2.

This is not only a loss for the Tea Party, but repudiation of the "it's all Obamacare's fault".
