Relative to the 7+ billion people who make up the planet Earth, Americans are extremely successful in this regard.

I'm doing fine.......I'm just getting tired of Wall Street screwing up and then demanding hand outs.

I don't need the welfare nor do I want to pay for it.

I agree with a lot of what Sanders says, though I am not sure I would be called a supporter. I consider myself successful and have an MBA so I know a little about how the economy functions, too. How about that?

It wasn't Wall Street...

Asked about the government's affordable housing goals compelling Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac before the crisis to devote more than half their portfolios to riskier nonprime mortgages for low-income borrowers, Frank blurted out: "No more goals, no more telling the private sector how to invest in the housing market.

"Barney," Liesman asked, "are you suggesting that the goals of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the concept of promoting homeownership, was something that contributed to the crisis?

"Yes, it was, very much so"

Let that sink in... No more telling the private sector how to invest in the housing market.

Telling...

Without that forced significant reduction in lending standards, none of the rest would have followed.

We've done this many times. It's a waste to do it again.

There must be a lot of fake IDs for those 7 billion people to vote in a US election, eh?

Mick

Politicians (of both parties) were complicit but when a politician asks you to do something you know is stupid you say no.

The banks didn't say no because of the promises of the politicians to make things good if they go bad.

Eff them both.

If you have an MBA how has it escaped your attention that Scandinavian countries, which Sanders touts as the model we should emulate, tax regressively with the greatest tax burden placed on the middle class and poor, and allows the rich to hide income and capital gains in foreign accounts so they're tax-free? They have no FATCA law, as does the U.S.

Sanders said tax increases should hit everyone. Sanders doesn't disagree with you, only those who refuse to be honest about his positions.

I may vote for Bernie and I agree with him. The best tax base is one where everyone must be invested in it.
