Laurence Tribe, whom Trump cited this weekend, destroyed Cruz on Anderson Cooper tonight. Take a listen. There absolutely IS a question. He is of the opinion that the constructionist interpretation of the Constitution, the kind Cruz favors in other cases, can only mean that natural born means born on US soil. Cruz wants it both ways.
i'm kind of surprised by this since tribe was one-half of the "tribe/olsen" report submitted to congress that stated john mccain is eligible for POTUS due to him gaining citizenship at birth thru his parents.

will need to go back and read the report again.
I have no idea why pundits, and supposed scholars, lawyers, and judges are trying to bend law and interpretations every which way, when all they have to do is follow the timeline of the drafting and adoption of the Constitution in regards to the presidential eligibility clause, which I posted here:
It's plain as day that the intent of the requirement was to (after providing an exception for the newly created US citizens who were all born foreign citizens/subjects) preclude those born foreign citizens/subjects (of which born dual citizens are) from eligibility.
Of course most legal scholars feel that Cruz's citizenship isn't an issue.
Trump appears to again pulling out the old birther card - in a passive, aggressive way, just enough to put some doubt in some voters' minds about Cruz...
Break out the popcorn and soda, and watch this unfold.

Looking at historical facts and the timeline of how the presidential eligibility clause evolved from what was presented in June of 1787 into what was adopted in September 1787, and still exists in the Constitution to this day, it is an issue.
"Born a citizen" does not equal "natural born citizen." The language in the Constitution's presidential eligibility clause was changed from the former to the latter after George Washington received John Jay's letter suggesting it.

"Donald Trump is actually right about something: Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) is not a natural-born citizen and therefore is not eligible to be president or vice president of the United States."

The question needs to be settled once and for all as far as a precise definition of natural-born citizen. You would think that Cruz would welcome this since he is calls himself a "constitutionalist". As I have said before, we don't want another pick and choose POTUS.
The question needs to be settled once and for all ....
the only way i can think of to have this resolved is for one of the other legitimate candidates ( i doubt anyone else would have standing ) to file a challenge against cruz and it is taken to the SCOTUS .
none currently seem to be willing to ( including trump ).
