Obama was born in Kenya not Hawaii. His birth certificate is faulty and there is a lot of evidence suggesting he was born in Kenya. Don't buy into liberal shills
The issue with Obama is that if he was legally adopted by his stepfather Sotero in Indonesia, he is no longer a US citizen.
wrong. adoption does not affect US citizenship. no third party can renounce a person's US citizenship ( and the US does not allow 6-10 year olds to renounce their own citizenship ).
I laughed at the Obama birthers, and I'll laugh at the Cruz birthers. They are cut from the same cloth.
Perhaps not. The article brought up some important points. Number one being that the difference between Obama and Cruz is, that both were born to US citizens, yes, but, one inside and one outside US soil. Much as I see Trump as a loose cannon (a 12# Neopoeon on the deck of a rowboat) I'm attain he's got a pertinent point here.
Just because one parent is a US citizen, does NOT naturalize a child, at birth, if it is born in another country. The article covers that, in backed up detail. Folks can laugh and co.pare this to the Obama birthed thing all they like....but this isn't even close to the same thing. In these simple differences of location of ones birth, lie a can of worms big enough to fish for years. Hell, as a political move, silly as it seems, Trump has just forced Cruz's campaign to expend time and resources on the issue. Can sure tell Trump came from corporate America.
A simple but common tactic. Force the competition to spend more money than you, run out their resources on nickel and dime, legal chicken poop, all while you still have eyes on the prize. Unhindered. Lol....pretty shrewd actually....
he may be a '''foremost scholar''', but he is being dense on this issue
A natural born citizen or natural citizen is someone who is considered a United States citizen from birth.
Based on what? The only Federal Statute that named persons born abroad to US citizens as Natural Born Citizens was repealed in 1795.
And the 2004 Senate bill introduced in 2004 to name such persons as NBCs eligible for POTUS never made it out of the Judiciary Committee.
Quote:
SEC. 2. DEFINITION OF "NATURAL BORN CITIZEN."
(a) In General.--Congress finds and declares that the term "natural born Citizen" in Article II, Section 1, Clause 5 of the Constitution of the United States means--
(1) any person born in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof; and
(2) any person born outside the United States--
(A) who derives citizenship at birth from a United States citizen parent or parents pursuant to an Act of Congress; or
(B) who is adopted by 18 years of age by a United States citizen parent or parents who are otherwise eligible to transmit citizenship to a biological child pursuant to an Act of Congress.
But one must be a Natural Born Citizen to qualify for President.
And since the State Department is qualified to pass judgement on citizenship (per Miss Informed) and since the State Department only recognizes two forms of citizenship (natural born citizenship and naturalized citizenship) and since naturalized citizens are those who applied for and received citizenship, this leads to the conclusion that natural born citizens are those who didn't have to apply for citizenship to receive citizenship, as they received their citizenship at birth.
Ted Cruz is a citizen, per the State Department. Ted Cruz didn't have to apply for citizenship, therefore he cannot be a naturalized citizen. Ipso facto, Ted Cruz is a natural born United States citizen.
So......if Ted Cruz can produce a U.S. passport, then he must be a U.S. citizen.
Yes, and that would qualify him for Congress according to the Constitution.
However, the Constitutional requirement for POTUS is more than that. One must be a natural born citizen.
