The Republican stalwarts are looking at a candidate with almost 100% recognition (yes, Republicans should start looking at that factor as Dems have done), and who appears to be ready to barrel through the primaries.
Yet, instead of perhaps taking him aside to address what they consider to be "rough edges," they intend to impede him at every turn, and are looking for ways to strip him of delegates. Yes, personally, we'll survive 8 years of Hillary, and those who can't, deserve what they vote for.
The Republican establisment are dumb as a box o' rocks.
You might be right. If Trump sweeps Super Tuesday, then all that's left for the GOP to do is to get behind him and pressure the other candidates to drop out.
In a way, it could work out. Democrats are already calling Trump a bigot and a racist, but they would do that no matter who won.
For all of the "centrists" and Democrats bemoaning the fact that Donald Trump is about to win the GOP nomination, just remember that you had the chance to elect a moderate, reasonable and competent businessman in 2012. He wasn't good enough, and you instead voted a failed President into a second term.
If we have anyone to blame for Trump, it's the voters that elected Obama again in 2012.
Blame Obama for not doing anything with most issues, except global warming and Guantanamo, the Do Nothing President as my husband often refers to Obama.

A do nothing President and his Attorney General who was so incompetent he didn't jail a single Wall Street bankster.
Essentially that's telling Republicans that their vote doesn't count. That'd probably be the end of the GOP as we know it today which may not be such a bad thing.
I would imagine the GOP party could fracture similar to what happen to the Whig party when Millard Fillmore was passed over for General Zachary Taylor.
This is a clear indication that it's time to reform the Republican Party. Losing elections this way is a symptom of a much more virulent disease.
People are voting for Trump because they think he might be able to actually get things accomplished which is in sharp contrast to the obstructionist that the modern Republican Party has become.
I know I replied to this already but is going towards Trump true reform to the Republican Party unless he wins. If he loses, all it does is show that philosophy don't work. If he don't win because a brokered system, you have a point but if he wins, you have pure proof. I know I spoke earlier about Trump's comments but I don't think Trump is any different than an obstructionist, especially if things go elsewhere.

MANY republicans (myself included) will not vote for Rubio.
Would you vote Rubio against Hillary, yes or no?

And the GOP wouldn't throw the race with Trump as the nominee?

That said, the reality is - sadly so - that I don't really see how Trump can be stopped at this point. It's great that Rubio and Cruz are starting to fight back but this is something they should have been doing months ago. At this point I think our best bet is a brokered convention where Rubio or Cruz somehow come out on top. Maybe even someone like Paul Ryan or Mitt Romney (who's name just won't stop coming up). Otherwise, I think alot of conservatives are going to walk on the GOP if Trump gets the nomination. This #NeverTrump movement is exploding.
I don't see the 23 being a whole lot to keep Rubio in the game. It's just a breathing room especially if he is to lose Florida.
As for what you are saying, you are right that a Brokered Convention is the best alternative to a Trump nomination to even get anywhere close to a Republican in the White House. I don't see moderates voting for Trump in droves.
When I hear Rubio talking so defensively of Israel, I think I know what's behind that! Casino Mogul Adelsen will only fund a Republiclown, I mean Republican, unless he/she is staunchly in support of Israel.
Nice thing about Rubio is he's very puppet-like. If you tell him to Sit, he sits, if you tell him to stand, he stands. Makes for a lovable President!
You hit the nail on the head with that comment. Rubio will be a pawn for big business who funded him. He is an ambitious guy who will do most anything to achieve his goals. That isn't working for the people. That is for working for the agenda he's paid for by his big shot donors...
Agree with what you say, and they should also be asking "what have we done to make our constituents so mad at us." I've not heard anyone ask these questions, or say anything close to they are hearing what their constituents are saying.

How much longer can he hang in there w/o a single win?
His generously-salaried beneficiaries in NoVA neocon Big Government really tried to pull a VA win for him today.
