Judge Curiel was a hard-charging prosecutor at a time when the American authorities were trying to help Mexico confront the Arellano Félix brothers, the heads of a murderous cartel that controlled a torrent of narcotics coming into the Western United States. In a period when Mexico was reluctant to send its drug lords for trial in the United States, Mr. Curiel’s job involved working with informants and sometimes-corrupt Mexican officials to win convictions in this country and in Mexico.
For much of a year, Gonzalo P. Curiel, then a federal prosecutor in California, lived officially in hiding.
He hunkered down for a while on a naval base and in other closely guarded locations under the protection of United States marshals. Even his siblings did not know exactly where he was at times.
The reason: In a secretly taped conversation inside a San Diego prison, a man accused of being a gunman for a Mexican drug cartel said that he had received permission from his superiors to have Mr. Curiel assassinated.
The Arellano Félix cartel kept Mr. Curiel in its sights. One of the suspected gunmen, according to court filings, was recorded in prison saying he “had requested and received permission from the leaders of the Arellano cartel to have Curiel murdered,” forcing Mr. Curiel to live for a while under guard.
What about just considering people that are qualified? How many would he even be choosing? No one knows that. Just more crap!
Yeah, exactly, include Hispanic candidates in that pool of qualified people. I am sure you are not suggesting that there are no good Hispanic candidates in this country.

Ok, so he doesn't like the drug cartels. Now tell us how he feels about illegal immigration and what he has done in the past to support or defend them. I'll wait.

So any American of Mexican descent should be investigated this way? Legal Americans. Legal citizens of this country born in Indiana should be investigated now?

You tell me, and explain how it is relevant to the Trump University trial.

All along, Trump supporters said their issue was illegal immigration. They have ripped off the mask and shown really it's about anyone of Hispanic or Mexican descent, even if they are absolutely American citizens.
Trump is essentially voicing his support for a new form of Nuremberg Laws in the United States directed at people of Hispanic heritage that would treat them as something less than a full citizen. A few posters in this thread have already taken the ball and run with it, voicing their support for the deportation and/or execution of American citizens based on their ethnicity.

Exactly. There is no misunderstanding here. He went after Republican governor Susannah Martinez as well. And Judge Curiel was appointed by Republican governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. They are both absolutely American citizens. The difference is their heritage.

La Raza literally means "the race". In the Americas it is often a term Hispanics use to refer to Hispanics. In other word, the judge belongs the the Hispanic Lawyers' Association, which is different than the National Council of Hispanics. They are NOT related anymore than the Black Caucus of Congress is related to the Black Panthers, even though both have the word black in their moniker. Or, any more than the Aryan Nation is the same as the United Nations.
"La raza" to me's just as bad as the Aryan Brotherhood, KKK, NBP and so on. I know a LOT of "Hispanic" people who look down on la raza just like most of us anglo white people think the Klan and AB are just trash.
