The Huffington Post claims that Melania Trump's official bio falsely claims that she holds a university degree.

<<
Slovenian journalists Bojan Pozar and Igor Omerza wrote in their biography on the former fashion model that she “became ― and remained ― a college dropout” after leaving the University of Ljubljana’s architecture school following her freshman year.
Below is their account of this period of her life in the book, Melania Trump ― The Inside Story: From a Slovenian Communist Village to the White House:
In her freshman year, the 19-year old Melanija Knavs attended lectures on the following subjects: elements of architecture, fine arts, fundamentals of technical mechanics, architectural construction, descriptive geometry, mathematics, and an ideological (read “communist”) elective credit called “General Partisan Resistance and Social Self-protection”. Melanija would have made it to her sophomore year, even having failed 2 exams, but she was supposed to have gotten and held a 1-month internship and kept a journal about it.>>

That is why she later said she had never been proud to be an American before. Wasn't that long after her heart felt speech? So much honesty in that "heart felt" speech. Give it a rest. There is no comparison. Mrs. Trump is best without question. So glad Michelle will be leaving soon.

Did her dress sell out before she finished her speech? How many women want to be Michelle? Poor thing!

She has a degree in love for America.
Something that has been missing from both the president and first lady.
Crooked Hillary couldn't pass a background to become American if she were an immigrant let alone POTUS.

The Trump Campaign is blaming Melania friend, a Ballerina named McIver or something, for the plagiarism .. now that's "Classy". I 'm not sure about the Ballerina part.

Most everyone on this stage has professional writers. My college speech professor was a paid staff writer for our senator. Pretty common. Politicians are too busy to compose long speeches. Some politicians like Barrack Obama and Bill Clinton as well as Ronald Reagan have a ton of input though. You can tell when they go impromptu to tell who depends on writers most. Trump's speech Thursday will not sound in any way like his own words. He's awkward reading the prompter.....

The more I read of these threads the more I doubt there is a speech writer out in the alley (as you put it) licking his/her wounds. Another poster used the term "unmitigated gall" 100 plus posts ago and that is now my favorite description ever! Trump and his team simply DO NOT CARE if they lift a speech from Michelle Obama, Winston Churchill, or Kermit the Frog.
I agree with all of this. In addition, I agree with the Washington Post's take on what this speech shows about the Trump campaign:

"Basic vetting would have set off alarm bells. This is the kind of rookie mistake that a serious congressional campaign would never make."

Now, this is just one speech. And it wasn't given by the candidate, but the candidate's spouse. Still, if a Presidential campaign would cheat at this point in the campaign (and plagiarizing someone else's work is cheating) and dig their heels in, refusing to admit the mistake, what does that show us about the mentality of those most closely involved in the Trump campaign? What does that show us about the person who may be the next President of the United States?

What does it say when the reaction of Trump to a crisis - what should have been a minor hiccup - is to deny and bluster?

The thing I learned is how they reacted with outright lies. They can't be trusted.

This is such a riot!! I like Melania; don't know what she sees in the Donald. (oh, yeah, money?) She deserved so much more than a speech ripped off from Michelle. Either the speech writer was an old coot that knew nothing about using other peoples exact words, without giving credit to the person; or one of Donald's beautiful children, or a student......................whatever, the words are worth repeating; just not from the wife of the bully.

However, after calling the president and his wife and Hillary all the dirt they can dish out, how on earth could they copy verbatim a speech by a democrat? Huge compliment for Michelle, and I admire our first lady. What is even funnier is how the campaign manager is blaming Hillary for the huge mistake.

After all of the fear mongering, coming from the speakers at the RNC convention on behalf of Donald, this is a breath of fresh air. So odd that Melania is an immigrant, and yet Donald is so against any other immigrants. He needs to lose this election, big time.

This is an interesting point. Melania is a better looking woman than Michelle. But, look who Michelle gets to have as a husband. Obama is intelligent, he's cool, he's kind and compassionate, just an all-around sexy man. Trump is an angry, oversized Wookie. Clearly, looks can only get you so far. They won't win a decent man and won't make a good speech.

We'll probably find that the Plagiarizer was one of the Trumps... but the Campaign and/or the RNC should have caught it. No excuse for not catching it.
