Should have made this thread a poll.

Nothing would surprise me. Let's wait and see.

Bit too early to tell at this point, once the Democrats nominate their Presidential candidate we will be able to make a better assessment. At the moment theres a lot of anti trump sentiment held by a lot of people based solely on that i'd say he will be a one term President.

Trump's dissenters within his party are disappearing if you ask me. The only ones that speak up are out of a job (resigned, primaried out, etc). This is happening because the voters support Trump. He will win his primary likely regardless of whatever happens. Even if he was obviously guilty of something, anything - tax avoidance, Russian collusion, murder - he'd still be the nominee.

As for if he'd win the general... It's much too early to tell. I think the key is whomever the Democrats stand up to take the beating by Trump. It is easy to claim that if polls show that Trump's approval ratings are still around 41% or whatever that he'd have a hard time winning. However, that is false logic. Let's say one contends that approval ratings are in lock step with how people would vote in Nov 2020. When there are polls put up that might say Trump has 45% support vs a generic Democrat with 55% - that generic Democrat is being held up as the most ideal candidate possible; a candidate that is all things to all people.

We aren't voting for a generic Democrat. We are voting for an actual person. A person with strengths, weaknesses, faults, scandals, whatever. That will erode away some of that support.

Long story short - it is way too early to tell.

If meeting with a North Korean leader were that easy, then it would have been done by U.S. President sometime in the last 70 years.

Sort of.

Past Presidents didn't want to meet the NK leader. They didn't want to legitimise the regime. Kim couldn't believe his luck......

Unless the democrats can put someone up that is light years better than Hillary, then yes, Trump will win in 2020. His voters are rabid and will turn out to the booths in droves.

Hillary was a terrible candidate, very unlikeable. If the left would've put up Bernie Sanders, he beats Trump easily. The left has no one to blame but themselves for Trump being president.

Well his approval rating is now 49% and I believe if that holds up or gets even better, he should win.

Just the fact we have some of the lowest unemployment ever, with more jobs than people to fill them, people finally have a little money again, and the economy is booming. Money talks, and you know the rest.

There are a lot of other important issues that have been addressed, and while some still need some work, they don't affect most people more than having some jingles in their pockets.

Then there is the matter of who the Dems run, and what kind of platform they can muster up. With the way they've acted since the last election and resisted everything, they've alienated a lot of voters that don't believe in the far-left fringe agenda, and it's going to be tough to get those voters back.

An old white guy will lose to trump guaranteed unless something dramatically changes in the next 2 years.
Yeah, especially considering how successful they were with that strategy 2 years ago.

Just shows ya. You can be a sociopathic, lying, crotch grabbing, back stabbing, childish name calling, delusional, non swamp draining fool, and still become President of the United States these days. These are desperate times for sure.

Makes it even worse the Dems haven't got a decent person ready to take him on. Chickens have come home to roost for sure. Americans are so sick to death of cheating politicians in general, that such a man as Trump could well be reelected.

I'll say one thing though. His lies are getting ever fancier. Parents of dead American soldiers buried in North Korea are asking him to bring their bodies home huh? How old must they be again these parents? I heard about 110.
