Yes, it is true. Has been for years. I find it interesting that any liberal would have the gall to say they are tolerant of Christian values when they are so obviously INTOLERANT. And I don't mean forced on you, you are just intolerant of anything Christian.

where or when are people "intolerant" of Christians, when Christians are not trying to force their values on the entire country?

What is it that you are talking about? Would you expect an atheist to be happy about seeing the Ten Commandments tablets on the outside wall at City Hall? Maybe you expect an atheist to praise the fact that an elected official steps to the front of her church to receive "blessings" from a visited preacher about her being "protected." This is out and out superstition from a time long past, when shepherds sat on the hills and wrote poems about a vengeful and racist God and when women were banned from conversations with men other than family members. When men were expected to marry a dead brother's wife.
Some people don't get it.

They claim to be tolerant, but they are not. Tolerant of other religions? Only if that religion isn't CHRISTIAN! And Dems have been out in force on this board accusing anyone not voting for Obama of being racist. THAT is racist. And then you talk about equality for woman - oh, as long as the woman isn't a conservative woman. You liberals have discredited everything you claim to stand for during this election.

I disagree with you. But it's difficult because you don't provide any instances of intolerance. It may be that the breakdown is in defining intolerance and also in how people view what is religious practice. Living in Baptist country, I understand that many devout people feel that they have to provide testimony to their beliefs, and that their faith informs their lives on a daily basis. For people not as devout, the view is more that religion is important, but that there is a place and time for it. So you have conflict when the two come together. The devout feel that people are being intolerant by setting boundaries, but people of other beliefs feel that they are being disrespected.
it sure is. most of my friends are police or long time military. you can image how that obama sticker is going off. the look, huck, you are crazy and blind, 24/7.

Well, to get back on topic....
No my political views have not affected my relationships. My husband and I see exactly eye to eye on this and my friends might have slightly different views, but there is not one of them who is voting for McCain, or at least they won't admit to it.

When I drive to and from work, I flip off anybody with a McCain sticker on their car, and give them two birds if they have McCain/Palin sticker (You deserve an extra for supporting this women).
