It just demostrates that McCain would never get anything done as president. He cant even work with people in his own party. How would he reach across to democrats? But the republicans are jumping off a sinking ship.

No matter what happens, you can blame Bush for it.

It's been interesting to watch how poorly McCain has done in the West.
The article notes that the demographics have changed with the influence of migrating constituents.
Has it ever been brought to light who, in fact, forced McCain to take on Sarah Palin????

I guess the phrase "blame Clinton" will now be replaced with "blame Bush", but the sad part about it is that the blame clinton people were republicans (as expected), and the blame bush people are also republicans!

Would it have been Steve Schmidt?
Maybe some day we'll read in in-depth exposé--oops I mean exploration--of this election.

Yup.
So much for the "Party of Personal Responsibility" eh?

The fact is, the GOP has NO HOPE of recovery until they acknowledge their own failures. Fortunately for the GOP there are already SOME members who are admitting that they (the Party members) themselves are to blame. Newt Gingrich for example was predicting the same thing I'm saying here (ie a massive defeat followed by a blood bath) way early in this election cycle - and he was not alone, and remember, these are people who REALLY KNOW the Party inside and out. That's part of the reason why I've never waivered in my confidence that Obama was going to win the Presidency - despite the silly GOP diehards on this site proclaiming Obama was going to be trounced. Those folks were clearly either "whistling in the dark" or blissfully ignorant of just how bad off their Party of Choice really was.

Now, however, reality is starting to become apparent even to those with the biggest blinders on. No matter what kind of garbage attacks the GOP has thrown at Obama, most Americans have seen through the smokescreen to see that the GOP really has nothing new to offer at this time and that the personal attacks against Obama have been groundless. It just that the "true believers" among the GOP (many of whom are apparently on this board) are so used to personal attacks giving them victory, that they are slow to realize that smear tactics are just not enough when the GOP brand is held is such contempt across the Nation.

In another week and a half however it will become obvious even to them.
The REAL question is - how long will it take the Party Faithful to realize the rest of the truth and face up to the fact that the GOP pretty much destroyed it's credibility and placed the country into the mess it's in today? Until they do that, they are doomed to remain the Party OUT of Power.

Ken

What has amazed some commentators even Republican ones is that it has started so soon. The race isn't over now is the time for them to buckle down and win it for the Gipper.
