Well done!

Now, enjoy your upcoming electoral banishment. May it be deep and long.
I agree totally !!!!!!GOOD POST!!!!!

I think it has something to do with the majority of Americans voting Democrats into office, unless of course you feel a democratic republic isn't the way to go?

Did you offer up such concerns when we had a majority republican Congress and Executive?

While I am concerned that when ANY party holds a large majority in government that we lose parity and there is too few to say no to anything.

Pretty much the bulk of the contemporary Republican Party has spent six years thumbing their collective noses at Democrats with a pretty much complete indifference to their very existence and ran roughshod over the entire political landscape. In doing so Republicans have expanded the Federal government almost as much as FDR, ran up massive deficits, ruined our national reputation and did little if anything to stem the seething economic crisis that has been brewing for at least 4 years.

Now the Democrats will be in the EXACT same position as the Republicans were just two years ago and chances are, they will fall into the same mindset, I am giving it about a 70/30 chance.

To all Republicans out there, suck it up and get used to it. Use this time wisely to rediscover where the party got it wrong, focus on what they did right and find the wisdom that was lost when the party's core philosophies were abandoned in favor of what it is today.

I'm willing to give the Dems a shot because the Pubs have shown that they're completely self-serving and simply cannot be trusted to govern. For the forseeable future, their role needs to be limited to that of minority opposition party.

They've earned it.

If the Dems make as big a mess of things in the next eight years, then quite possibly America's 240 year experiment with democracy will have come to a sad end because we've grown too stupid to remain a functioning republic. But I have confidence that America is strong enough to dig itself out of this deep hole left behind by the Bush/Cheney cabal. The public is becoming aroused and in times of crisis, Americans have traditionally responded well. I have a feeling we will this time, too.

The real shame is that the current crisis has been packaged and delivered to us by our own elected officials, those who pledged to uphold our national interest. Instead they pursued narrow policies that benefited few while harming millions. We're not being beaten down by an enemy. We've been hoodwinked by leaders who've treated American as if it was their own private yard sale.

They can never be forgiven for their greed, deceit, and small-mindedness.
