Obama has presented a Certificate of LIVE BIRTH from the state of Hawaii, but it is NOT a certified copy (or the original) of his Birth Certificate - just "Live Birth". Furthermore, the certificate he presented is a very recent document that is printed using LASER paper and the form has a revision date far more recent than his birth date in 1961. Laser printing was not done in 1961.
Look at the document that many people think is Obama's birth certificate. It is not!

If you go and request a copy of your birth certificate, you will receive a document that is printed using a current printer. You will most likely not receive a copy of the original that was issued the year you were born. Few, if any, localities have the resources to pull and copy original documents that may be decades old.
All pertinent information has been recorded in a central computer system so that it is easy to access and can be provided in a common format that is designed for the equipment in use today.
When my children (born in 1973 and 1975) had to get copies of their birth certificates from New York City, the documents contained only the most basic, pertinent information. They did not include any information regarding size, weight, or time of birth. They did however, include the original certificate number, seal and the date issued, similar to what Sen. Obama has provided.
My children have gotten passports, driver's licenses, enlisted in the armed services, etc. using these documents. No one has ever questioned their validity.
Many people do not have the original versions of their birth certificates. My husband, God rest his soul, who was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1944 never had a copy of his. He used his baptismal certificate to register for school, enlist in the Air Force and so on.
Other posters have noted that the state of Hawaii has verified that the document is valid and has verified that the information is included in their database. Other sources have determined that Sen. Obama's mother did not apply for a passport to leave the US for the first time until he was 7 or 8 years old.
We have multiple official sources asserting that he is a US citizen but only questionable (and discredited) ones suggesting that he is not.
I know who I choose to believe, and it is not the guy who said that 9/11 was a Bush conspiracy.
He has every right to. As does everyone in this country... I hope people like Kooter keep pushing for it till Obama actually proves he is a citizen... it's not that hard to request the birth certificate. One phone call. That's all it takes. Thank you! All Americans should want to know if Obama meets the requirements of the Constitution to be POTUS. Obama has been hiding a LOT of information about himself that most anyone else would freely offer - WHY? What is he hiding that Americans should know NOW before he might be elected our President?

He is a citizen. Duh. If he wasn't, he wouldn't be eligible to be president. Get a clue please.

We don't know what year the Decosta certificate is from. We know that Obama's is from 2007 and we know that the Board of Health verified that it is what a birth certificate looks like.
And by the way, you are now showing us a short form with "Certificate of Live Birth" at the top as your counter example! I just thought I would point that out.
