Yes but in switzerland most are french, and eastern europeans not really a large chunk of non western foreigners. Its not the netherlands where even in midle sized cities non-western foreigners (turks, middle easterns, blacks, indonesians, etc) are on every corner.
So we should make a difference between western and non-western foreigners and between visible and non-visible groups. A lot of french from neighbouring areas go to live in french speaking switzerland, the same for germans living in german speaking swiss areas, certainly a different sort of foreign born and immigration compared to a pakistani living in london, a moroccan living in the netherlands or a ghanian living in paris.
Brits always will claim the UK being the most multicultural place in europe but the studied contradict it , as high as 91% of the Isles population is of ethnic british origin, and even london is about 70% british isles descent. With the last on count we are not even considering all the large minorities of eastern european groups (such as poles).
London is 45% white British, not 70%. And England overall is 79% white British, not 91%.
I've always been more interested in the countries of the Romance speaking world: primarily Italy, France, Spain, because of their longer history, I prefer their culture (more vibrant, outdoorsy), attitude to life/love of life, cuisine etc. I find the Germanic world interesting as well - especially Britain, for cultural reasons, but as a place I find southern and western Europe more attractive and interesting.
For this poll:
Germanic - UK, Netherlands, Germany, Scandinavia
Romance - Portugal, Spain, France, Italy
You left out Romania from the list of Romance/Latin based derived nations
owned by people from Pakistan..and all waiters are Argentinians, there must be a lot of them, als
In Paris a lot of people who work at service sector are of African origin. Sometimes they are much better than French, more friendly, complaisant and obliging.
Eh, I would live in the US if living there was more like Australia in terms of the government, health-care, politics. But Oz really is the Lucky Country in many ways.
They're two very different countries, I found that out when I visited the States.
WOW... I thought that the USA and Australia where similar....Australia being more socialist America being more die hard capitalist...If your Australian why would you like living in the USA ???? Maybe because it is less Isolated and closer to " Mother Europe" for visits ??
romanesce europe: pro: good food, relaxed life-style, nice weather, amazing natural scenery, low crime rates, stunning girls
romanesce europe: con: lazy, doesnt get anything going, a bit chaotic, poorer than germanic europe, less structure, high corruption
Germanic europe: pro, good healthcare and universities, richer, well-structured, obediant people, honest people, low corruption
Germanic europe: con, high (immigration related) crime-rates. Weak climates. Generally not as beutiful scenery-wise.
Can't agree more !!!! Wish we could have all the pros in one place !!!
I'm not all that interested in the Romance countries besides some sites of historical interest and a few volcanoes.
