An invasion that was going to take days is now going to take weeks, maybe months. Supply chain issues, poor logistical control, and slow progression continues to hamper the vastly larger Russian forces as they continue their march. Russia has taken to indiscriminate bombing of civilian centers, showing true desperation. Citizens of Ukraine are creating human shields to block roads and otherwise hamper the Russian troops. And, despite the size of the invading forces, there aren't enough to really hold the cities if/when they are able to capture them.
SAYS WHO?
The only reason the Russian/DNR troops are moving slower than they could of, is because they are trying to SPARE THE CIVILIANS as much as possible.
Do you understand that this vermin, the Nationalist battalions ( and not only, unfortunately) are using civilian population as their live shield in the cities?
P.S. Why do they need the troops to "hold the cities" once Ukrainian troops are cleansed from there?
If they don't, their rear and flanks will be exposed. And, of course, it is difficult to occupy a country if you don't. Military strategy and all.
There is not much left to be "exposed to" when Russians are planning their offensives.
I can see the map - they are about to close the "cauldron" around Ukrainian forces - they are all blocked and surrounded in the areas I am thinking of.
The toughest battles are still happening around the LDNR area ( where the Nationalist battalions are, so they flatten the whole area - destroying what's left of civilian infrastructure and the rest, with other words acting like fascists that they are,) but they are already cut off from the rest of the Ukr. army, so let them go nuts for now - what do you do.
( And yes, they are shelling that long-suffering Donetsk again out in the open, now that OSCE is gone. They killed more civilians this morning too.)
Quit acting like "bad Russians" and the picture will change.
Do you propose to stand in a knee-elbow pose in front of Western gentlemen? After all, this is the only way to please them and stop being bad.
But do you really think that the meaning of life and the purpose of the existence of the country is to please you and satisfy you with maximum diligence?! ("you" and "you" are the west in mind)
Get down to the ground. stop soaring in the clouds.
It's about hysterical screams on the Internet. well, about a beautiful picture in the style of "bad Russian" in the media.
If you don't want 'bad Russia' to be the pariah of the world then perhaps 'bad Russia' shouldn't bomb innocent children eh!? Child killers are rarely seen in a good light!

How about NOT being in Ukraine shooting missiles at people? That's how you 'spare civilians'!! If you shoot people with rockets you are a murderer, its perfectly simple!

So you yourself said that a massive bomb attack opens the door to peace!?
Or is it no longer true?

I don't see what that proves? Russian's are still murdering innocent civilians RIGHT NOW in a country that isn't theirs, Russia IS the pariah of the world RIGHT NOW and people like yourself that support the killing of children ARE hated across the globe (for obvious reasons), I only hope what they pay you enables you to sleep at nights.
And on another note special thanks to Finnish, Romanian, Ukrainian and of course Russian soldiers who have fought for the freedom of my country many years аго since today is our 'national day', 'independence day'. I tried to translate one famous passage from a poem about this battle in russian but since I don't understand it even in bulgarian it's hard even with g. translate:
"Даже сегодня Балканы когда грянет буря, вспоминает тот бурный день шумит и вперед, его слава так же дика как eк, от пропасти к пропасти и из века в век"
