I've worked with ladies who swear by them as their prime, go-to sandal. Just curious to know if the ladies of CD feel the same way about them and how many pairs do you have in your collection?

I never thought of them as a flattering sandal for anyone's feet. Always though of Birks more for comfort, not for looks. In fact, I have nightmares of the crazy math teacher who wore the popular two-strap Arizona style exclusively AND with socks as much as possible throughout the winter months. Scarred me through high school!

Lately, Birkenstocks have become really popular, especially the thong varieties. I have seen many women sport the Gizeh style and I think they look amazing on nice well-pedicured feet.

Another style that looks good on womens feet IMO are the Mayari style.

They don't fit my style. My friend has the Gizeh ones. She dresses more hipster boho so they work for her.

My style is trendy preppy, so those do not go at all.

If I wear thongs, I stick with simple leather ones, or embellished ones. I do like gladiators though.

I'd be more concerned about men(?) who wear them.

They are so comfy, but so ugly. There's just no way they can be cute. Maybe when a small child wears them, they're ok. But once you're in your 20's, it starts to look like you're wearing your great-grandmother's sandals that she bought because they don't make her bunions hurt.

Birkenstocks always make me think of Peppermint Patty's "style"...not very pretty or feminine.

They are hideous.

My style is classic, pretty, feminine footwear.

The bottom of my feet ached for years until my sister in law told me to try a pair of Birks. I can't thank her enough. I used to wear slippers in the house, and tried custom made orthodics in expensive sport shoes... a total waste of money!!
I own two pairs of Birks, one for my house, one for in and around our travel trailer through the summer. I want to get another pair for our cottage too.

While they are certainly clunky and quite ugly, my feet haven't felt this good in years. I just don't wear them out of the house (or while camping).

I would love to wear birks. I don't because it's all I can do to get myself to not dress that way.
