It's just a store to buy food. I don't see what the big hairy deal is. Sure beats Winn Dixie pixie.

Right, which is why I said it's the most overrated food item in Florida. I'm well aware everyone raves about Publix subs. Been to a Subway lately? It's a perfectly good sandwich, fresh baked breads, etc. I rarely go, but it's not a bad product at all. Same for Publix. Nothing special, just a perfectly good sandwich. However, even a chain like Jersey Mike's or Jimmy Johns is better than Publix, let alone local sandwich shops. What makes Publix subs so special? Run of the mill boars head meats, small selection of toppings, nothing special bread ... Really, I don't get it.

Lol... Come on man...

I’m not the biggest fan (nor am I of Wawa subs) but that’s a HUGE stretch.

I will say, there are some items that I really do like at Subway, but the quality of meats is far inferior. Especially since it looks like they discontinued the rotisserie chicken.

(I don’t get the hype either by the way. But I do place it a notch above Jimmy John’s, and one below Jersey Mike’s.)

I did write "in many respects". Obviously there are things that Publix does better and there are things Subway does better. I don't consider either one outstanding. Both just decent.

^ Yeah, but Subway? Their meats are overly processed and don't even look like meat half the time! Quality has never been in Subway's vocabulary.

Different strokes, I guess.

Subway bakes fresh bread, which I like. And if it's a good franchise, the veggies are all nice with a lot of options. All processed meats are garbage, so processed garbage at Publix vs processed garbage at Subway, meh. Lol. I'm not terribly concerned at that point if Publix has slightly better garbage (they do). Anyways, my point is merely that both are just "meh." I'm not trying to argue one is better than the other

who cares? it's a damn sandwich. Publix Supermarkets is a well run business. Perfect? no, but damn good by comparison. I don't get the nastiness about Publix Supermarkets.

Eh... Get a cold cut combo or whatever it's called at Subway, and get the same at Publix... The meat quality is night and day.
I do like Subway's wider variety of veggies, so there is that... But... Meat? Yikes.

All in all, I agree with a poster above -- it's just damn sandwiches lol... All are edible to me. Neither are anything to write home about.
