If someone doesn't like Florida.....why don't they just move back to where they came from?

After all people are just "beating down the doors" to move to Florida and it's lovely economy. Retirees? They are not their parents generation and have other places, or stay where they are, to go to.

But the "proud Floridians" will never acknowledge these facts and will just have to suffer the consequences.

Not all the people that want to leave Florida are from some place else, many Natives want to leave the state too. I understand your question on why don't they just move if they don't like Florida. Just remember for many people its not that easy to just pick up and move.

Very good point, doggiebus. Agreed that it's not always easy to pick up and move.

i agree with all the posts here, I am a native south Floridian from Naples, I can say i left florida the last time 4 years ago, I say the last time due to it being the 5th time i left, the traffic, rude people, humidity, job market, just about the whole package just seemed to always get worse year after year and every time i moved away i found a new and exciting life elsewhere, but I love the beach so kept coming back! , tried myrtle beach (its even worse!) now I live in Denver Co. and im landlocked yes the Rockies are pretty but the east coast mountains ar3e prettier in my opinion, I wish I could find a place where I can make a living ,be safe, have the mountains and beach close by and be happy , any ideas? this economy seems so bad im not sure where to try next!

Sounds like Pennsylvania or New Jersey.

Denver was on our possible places to move, but after we visited a few times, the lack of trees outside downtown and the fact it was land locked made it a no go. I agree the mountains are beautiful, but don't think they make for the ocean. California seems to fit what you are looking for mountain and ocean close together. Not sure if it fits the bill for everything else you want though.

Default New Jersey would fit it

Have the Jersey Shore and can just drive to the Poconos for mountains. Long Island (Jones, Hamptons, Robert Moses, private town beaches) would work too with both Poconos or Catskills. A bit longer drive for mountains, but not that bad. Makes a nice weekend get away for all 4 seasons, with skiing in the winters.

So let me get this straight...you're a single college student in Boca and you can't find anything to do? Maybe drive 50 miles South and stop where you see the thong bikinis and hear the calypso music...

I don't think you're being fair to FAU. Get involved. Play intramurals. Hang out at the Theater Dept if you want to meet people immediately.
