So far we haven't noticed any effects from eating the recalled ground turkey last night, although Son had a mild case of the trots. The incubation period is up to two days so we are on high alert.

That said, I am making bacon fried rice and some frozen egg rolls for dinner.

Default The Agenda: August 7 - 20

That's right, you're not seeing things. Two weeks. In the first week, I'll begin at home with hamburger steaks with mushroom gravy, green bean casserole, and baked beans. Later in the week, I'll be at Rockfish (either trout or crawfish, sauteed spinach) with my mom and at Great Wall Chinese with a friend (likely to be peppered beef, sesame chicken, veggie lo mein, fried rice, sweet and sour shrimp, and mushroom chicken with peppers). Won't be cooking much.

Next week, I'll be on vacation in Galveston and Houston, TX. The places I'll be looking at are among the following: Casey's Seafood (broiled fish, sea scallops, cole slaw, scalloped potatoes), Fisherman's Wharf (not sure yet, but may go fried, and possibly a big platter), Beck's Prime (a great cheeseburger, with charbroiled patty on a yellow bun, fresh-cut fries), Goode Company Barbeque (brisket, ribs, Czech sausage, jambalaya, potato salad, jalapeno cheese bread), and Guadalajara Tex-Mex Grill (either fajitas or enchiladas). By the time I get to the middle of vacation at my Houston hotel, I'll have a computer by then and will update you on more.

Have a great week (or two) where you happen to be, and bon appetit!

Tonight we had homemade veggie lasagna. It was good and there is enough left over to reheat for lunch tomorrow.

No Pizza but I had 15 hot wings that I couldn't eat until they cooled down. Then went for ice cream.

Some leftover braised beef short ribs but instead of rice, I had some fingerling potatoes. Also had my usual orange slices to go with them.
