I know-we rushed the most wonderful years and then being blessed with grands I enjoyed every second. Less stress and much more time.

Elston that was great.

Kimba mine are grown and gone from the nest but my daughter who was (in a nice way) a handful has two boys of her own......The little one is just like her which gives me so many smiles because she has no idea what she is in store for. He clearly is her and add boy to the mix. I cannot resist him though.

oooooops dinner..............still have no clue tonight

I love Monkfish....poor man's lobster. My local supermarket doesn't carry it anymore. I can remember buying it for $2.99lb about 5-6 years ago. The last time they carried it, it was like $10 a lb. I guess everyone caught on how delicious it was.

Enjoy it!

I slice some fresh ginger on top and then add a little soy sauce, sesame oil, fresh ground pepper and mirin (Mirin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia).

I let it sit for about 10 minutes.

I steam the fish to the doneness (is that a verb?) that you like. Meantime, I heat oil (peanut, canola or corn oil) until it's almost smoking. When the fish has finished steaming, I place sliced green onions (scallions) on top and then pour the hot oil on top.

Serve with steamed rice. The sauce that is made is wonderful to go over your rice

That sounds wonderful....I am familiar with mirin.....my partner is Japanese....so I have learned how to do some Japanese dishes....but this sounds wonderful.....you must have a special steamer to hold the fish. Thank you for the recipe....it sounds wonderful.

Yes, I remember when you couldn't even give it away.

All day I have been craving a nice dinner of Fish Tacos made from tempura fried nuggets of fresh Dover sole in soft double corn tortillas garnished with tarter sauce, hot taco sauce, a bit of coleslaw and pico de gallo. I was also wanting an artichoke with Dijon butter sauce and roasted small red potatoes on the side.

But however due to laziness (and lack of fresh fish) we are having boxed potatoes all rotten , (potatoes Au gratin) with a few breakfast sausage links !

I am sure that your partner will not like the fish overly cooked. No special steamer. I just have a heat resistant bowl and place in a deep wok style pan with a lid.
