Thank you, Costco, for getting me out of cooking again.

This was my meal, turkey breast (dang!!), dressing with turkey sausage, parmesan brussel sprouts, caulimash. I am very low carb so the dressing was my Thanksgiving splurge. Husband also had deviled eggs, scalloped potatoes and cranberry sauce.

So good and cooking was minimal.

Lots of left overs for husband.

Every year, I say I’m not going to cook a lot but I always change my mind at the last minute.
I opted for turkey parts instead of the whole bird, since it’s just the two of us.

Turkey breast
Turkey thighs
Gravy
Oyster dressing
Brussels sprouts
Sweet potato casserole with marshmallows
Mac and cheese
Cranberry sauce
Pecan pie
Cookies and cream pie

Soda
Water
Tea
(Laying off the alcohol this year. Don’t have a taste for it, unfortunately)

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Just four of us and all are older. Sooo, they are bringing all the vegetables! I made a pumpkin pie. I made sorbet

Appetizer is blueberries and strawberries with sorbet.
Veg will be mashed potato, green beans, peas, butternut squash, homemade cranberry sauce
Roast turkey, no smoked here!
Stuffing, gravy
Pumpkin bread and rolls
Dessert is pumpkin pie.

Coffee, tea and I wish I had thought of cider. Keeping it simple.

LOVE the sorbet idea!!

I ended up adding assorted crackers, brie and 3 kinds of salami, so we have more appetizers. I should do something festive with the brie, but..... nope. Sangria got nixed too, just straight booze.

I have put all the dishes and they are ready to bake tomorrow. Just have mashed potatoes left to finish today, thank gawd, I am tired of cooking.

So I'm at the grocery store for my third and final time today and two guys were ahead of me in the check-out line.

Each held a twelve pack of pale ale and an already-baked pie.

They were looking forward to seeing some cousins, watching football, and some "good eats."

Ah, the simple life.

I've done as much "early cooking" as I could, and now I'm relaxing lol.

This year I didn't make pies, though. Instead, I picked up a couple of Wegmans pumpkin pies, and added a nut topping.

I'm not a great baker, so my pumpkin pie turning out well is 50/50. The crust started to burn so I wrapped it with foil, and I'm not feeling 100% on the inside part either. Luckily more pies are coming.

The BAD part about making your meat the night before is...I just ate way too much ham.

Turkey's in the oven. I'm a night owl, will probably be up late getting things done.
