While looking through some death records for an adoptee I ran across a death certificate where the victim was killed by a train, which is the info I'm looking for this adoptee. It isn't the one I'm searching for, but I looked at the info anyhow. I was really surprised, along with intrigued, that the Interment Control Form" from the military noted "Do Not Contact NOK under any circumstances" because this individual was living "under the IRON CURTAIN"
According to death certificate, this individual was single. Does this mean, his family in Hungry never knew what happened to him?!? I know, the ideas are speculation, but how horrible would that be!!!
The Iron Curtain encompassed most of eastern Europe, including Hungary, Poland, half of Germany, and other countries. It was enforced by the Soviet Union, aka Russia.

My dad came here in 1957 after the Hungarian Revolt. Things were bad there back then. I doubt his family was ever contacted.
I found someone in California with his last name. I don't know if it would help Andras Pattantyus-Abraham
As you know I have a cousin in Hungary and an uncle in Budapest. I'd have to have someone translate but can see if my cousin or uncle could find relatives of Imy Pattantyus Abraham Nagymező Utca 21 Budapest, Hungary

That would be cool! This guy Andras, sounds brilliant!
This really has me bothered. I wonder if anyone was ever contacted in later years. Curious if anyone in his platoon knew anything about him. Would love to know the "real" story.
