Products are not labeled by state. It’s almost impossible to know what is manufactured where. Especially if it’s a large corporation like GM or Coca-Cola that has operations all over the country.
However, for tourism purposes, there are certain states that are not at the top of my list, and politics do play a role. And yes, I would choose a vacation in New Mexico over Arizona.
Exactly how can a blue state liberal assist Arizona's progressives, while buying Arizona-made products at home or while passing through the state on a trip? By refusing to carry ID documentation, and be jailed by Sheriff Joe?
This screams of drama.
Really. Boy, the way the media presents things can really mess with people's heads. I thought people were smarter than that. In addition, the everyday life in AZ is nothing like the way the media portrays it to be.
My question about boycotting certain products/companies from certain states...how do you know that the company and or its employees don't share in your political beliefs? Or how do you know that a company/employees from a state you don't boycott shares in your political beliefs?
I can't imagine these boycotts are doing as much harm to the politicians they are targeted at as they are to the working class individuals who work for these companies.
Likewise for boycotting travel to states that vote differently from you. I can understand many reasons for not visiting states (climate, location, expense, geography, interest, etc)...but politics? That's silly. As if everyone in the state shares those political views.
Some of you people need to broaden your horizons. Diversity doesn't come in just shades of color, but shades of thought as well.
To those who boycott states, do the states know you are boycotting them? How can you make an impact if they don't know?
If you boycott a store or other type of business you can march with a picket sign but how the heck do you boycott an entire state? Do you stand on the state line and holler "I hate you?"
I boycot zip codes. And when that becomes mainstream I'll boycot townships...and then maybe census designated places....the sky's the limit on how dumb I can get.
There's a difference between another country and another state, for one. A big difference.
Plus, I'd be willing to bet there would be a big run on Cuban cigars if the embargo went away.

That's just it. A "state" does not do anything wrong. Politicians inside them are the ones making the decisions. Go and picket them. You don't see me boycotting Texas for all the dumb things our right-wing idiots are doing. You will, however, see me organizing against them.
