There is nothing like SD on the east coast. SD is uniquely Cali/Mexican in flavor.

I don't get what your trying to say. You keep puting emphasis on the word "families" dosent every city have "families" from what I seen I would say there's a bunch of college kids and military family, but not a lot of normal families in San Diego. Also I've also notice there are a lot transient people there too who leave after college because once agian San diego dosent offer a lot of opportunities.

Those homes are not filled with 'families doing fine'. Most are corporate rentals or elderly who are house rich and cash poor due to Prop 13 regulations. I know of multi-generational families living packed in homes because of the Prop13 inheritance statutes.
Take some time in the San Diego forums..

Encinitas, Carlsbad, Del Mar area are full of families, professionals, businessmen, etc. City Data forums are full of people with hidden agendas, broken dreams, poor decision-makers, etc. and are harldy a decent reflection of what any area is like.

I'd say Jacksonville, Fla. The only drawback is the occasional hurricane, but other than that, they have reasonably nice weather.

Your obviously over obsessed with San Diego cause you know what LA has families too. San frenando valley, San Gabriel Valley, every where.

you just totally ratted yourself out. I guess your one of those people here on city-data cause you hardly have a good reflection of what L.A. (an area) is like.
