Dick Gregory, comedian and civil rights activist came to speak at my university(Kennesaw State University) on the Dr. King holiday. I saw him on stage, but I never met him.

On the other hand, Tyler Perry, who lives in the Atlanta area, I have never seen him. Alton Brown(celebrity chef) lives in the Marietta area and I know where his church is. My friend once served him at a restaurant in Kennesaw, but I have never seen him in person. Grew up watching him on TV though.

I've met or been in the same company with the following celebrities. I've also listed the locations of these encounters ...

In Cleveland ...

Routinely encountered local sports celebrities Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow around town, typically at clubs in the downtown "warehouse district", but more often at the very trendy "View Ultra Lounge" atop a building near Quicken Loans Arena. Both of these sports figures have since left the city.

Kellen Winslow, Jr.

Several years ago, I attended a holiday party at Braylon Edwards home in affluent Westlake, a western suburb of Cleveland.

I met legendary actor,
Hal Halbrook while dining at an upscale eatery several years back in Cleveland's trendy Ohio City district. We merely exchanged mutual pleasantries in passing while in the dining area.

Singer and Cleveland native, Eric Carmen resides in the very affluent eastern suburb of Gates Mills ... he is probably best known for his 1987 smash single "Hungry Eyes", from the hit movie, "Dirty Dancing". I have routinely encountered Mr. Carmen at various restaurants in Cleveland's eastern suburbs, and have seen him shopping at the upscale Legacy Village in wealthy Beachwood.

While living in Columbus, I routinely saw singer, Eric Clapton in the ritzy "German Village" district of the city. As it turns out, Mr. Clapton owns a residence
in this extraordinary and quaint district.
I actually said hello to him once while dining at the upscale "Lindeys" in German Village.
