My son was done in the hospital. We did it because his father (my husband) is circumcised. I did research it thoroughly during pregnancy because I don't jump blindly into anything. I don't regret the decision.

No, it does smell, not if you bathe and if you don't keep your body clean, circumcised or not, you will smell. Seriously, people who are shallow and overly concerned about minor physical features aren't worth the time of day anyway.

And, you think it is not cruel to have someone take a knife to a baby? You know there have been accidents, serious accidents!

We needed those things in the past, but have evolved to where they aren't necessary and are now sometimes problematic. As I said, we did it for preventitve measures and don't regret it for a second, but if you choose not to, that's your choice and I couldn't care less .

So, I did my homework before deciding not to circumcise our younger son. Even functioning now as an adult, he is about at pre-school level and has been able to take care of "it" since he was able to bathe himself. He is into being clean though. I did notice that circumcised or not, while in diapers, the end seemed to get irritated from a wet diaper but after that, I just didn't anything.

I guess Mom and Grandma had no issues with it and in all honesty, neither married as a virgin so they saw what they were getting ahead of time. Certainly the uncircumcised man's wife with the 7 kids....................

While I realize people have sex to have sex, I cannot imagine that if someone were so very special and you fell in love with them (I know, I'm old-fashioned) that it would matter one way or the other.

Funny about "adult" films though because, really, I didn't know guys watched them and compared! Now, that is yuck. It's just the movies boys and they looked at a lot of them before choosing! Not into "adult" films and even phrasing them as "adult" is rather a hoot!

I wouldn't make the choice to circumcise, even though I am.. Simply because I can pass the decision on to him. I can't glue it back on, so.. The only option to give him a choice is to leave him uncircumcised.

However.. I have a real problem with so called 'intactivists' and, honestly, I didn't realize the pro-circ crowd was as vocal as them until reading through this topic.

What is right for you and your family is the right decision. Whichever side that falls on.

People sticking their noses into someone else's business is not right. Parents make the best decisions they know how for their children. What they choose to do that is legal to do is not my business.

That’s preposterous. If you look at the many attachments posted here from the World Heath Organization, the CDC and others, Male Circumcision is valid for many medically justified reasons. Every major health organization in the world also stete that Female Circumcision is never justified for any medical reasons.

That would be a very valid reason, to do it yourself

Personally I could go either way.

It may not be 100% necessary to remove wisdom teeth (which I never said), but almost everyone I know had them removed during college as recommended by their dentists. Most dentist suggest removing them to prevent future complications. It is suggested to remove foreskin to prevent future complications. I was responding to a person who asked why foreskin there if men don't need it and I was just making a comparison to another body part we have, but don't need. And comparing removing a limb or other organ to the removal of a small piece of skin or teeth is hardly the same.

I'm not American but live in the US now and I'm not circumcised, I've slept with plenty of girls here and do you know how many times that has been an issue? Zero. No girl here has ever not slept with me because of it, none, it's just a non issue completely. Only once a girl has mentioned it out of curiosity just because she had never seen an uncircumcised penis, and that was it.

And you would really cut your child because "kids will laugh at my son in the locker room"? Is that your reason? Even if you had used health reasons to justify it you'd still be wrong, but at least it would be because you were worried about your kids health, but because a couple of kids might say something in the locker room?

Yeah, it sounds like he has a bigger problem with other men's uncut penises than women.
This.
I have never had an issue with it, and no one's ever been bothered by it.
As a matter-of-fact, I've been told by quite a few that I have a really beautiful one lol. Not bad for something that women supposedly find so repelling.
Not that I even have to be concerned about that since I've been married for quite some time now.

Default This Mom Says NO!

Mom sues: Circumcision is ‘unconstitutional assault’

It appears that this mom feels very strongly about not having her son circumcised. I think it was mostly a "fad" but now that health insurance is counting their pennies, I think we'll see a lot of those "fringe" procedures go by the way side. And, with all the possibilities of an "oops", good news!

Speak for yourself! Apparently the women you talk to are ill-bred, uninformed, and parochial in their attitudes. BTW, one advantage for guys is there's no need to use hand lotion or whatever for self-pleasuring. Just thought I'd throw that out there....

But really a moot point since I have no children.
Oh, I did too. He was in his 30s. I processed medical claims for the company at the time. He needed it for health reasons, and went through a lot of pain as an adult. I certainly did not tell anyone (HIPPA) but somehow word got out. All the MEN at work were razzing him over his "medical condition".

Parental choice, but know that if it becomes necessary in adulthood for medical reasons, apparently the pain, and ridicule, is far worse. Just an observation from a female.

.

The practice of circumcision began during a period of pestilence, infection and disease, a time before bathing and showering, when people lived extremely unhygenic existences during ancient biblical times. It was also the case back then that one could not eat pork because of widespread bacterial trichinosis which can be fatal. One could not eat shellfish, lobster, etc either in fear of contracting illness. Obviously, it is safe to eat pork now and circumcision is an old ritualistic act that has carried over into modern times.

The one thing that people are NOT mentioning is that circumcision was mainly performed to desensitize males upon reaching puberty as means of society reducing oversexuality, and in many cases, widespread infidelity and rape. This was called "purification" in Judaism.

Anyone who thinks that circumcision is just simpily a trimming of skin is dead wrong. the Foreskin is the principal location of the erogenous sensation in the human male. REmoval will substantially reduce sensation. This is a medical fact.

Interestingly, the Romans were uncircumsized during their rule over Israel, where this practice was introduced. The Romans passed laws to protect the male's prepuce by declaring circumcision illegal.

Today, it's geographical. You will find more circumcised people up North, in cities like New York. There are more uncircumcised men in the South.

In terms of hygene, all people are different. There are gross circumcised men and uncircumsised. Hygene is your own personal thing, not to be generalized because of a foreskin.
