Sadly, Houston isn't exactly a great restaurant city and Voice never lived up to its hype. Good news, I guess. The day Stephan Pyles leaves Dallas and opens in Greenville, that will be NEWS.
I like Kilwins Heck, there isn't an ice cream shop I haven't liked, unfortunately. First one I went to was in Hendersonville. It's good to go to for a treat, once in a while.
Kilwins is a solid company, has been around FORever and is a staple in more tourist related areas. The other SC locationas I believe are HHI, Charleston and Myrtle.....all tourist. This new Kilwins location speaks well to the continuing growth of tourist who visit downtown Greenville.

In that regard, I was surprised to learn that Greenville County booked more hotel rooms than any other county in SC last June. June is typically a popular month for family beach vacations. I don't know how the counties compared in other months, but it was a nice revelation nonetheless.
Big news: Chef Michael Kramer is leaving Houston to work for Table 301 in Greenville.[/url]
Kramer is no stranger to the Greenville food scene. He did a Guest Chef Wine Dinner last July at Devereaux. Before that he competed in the 2010 Euphoria cook-off challenge. Earlier, while he was at McCrady’s in Charleston, Kramer managed to find time to be a source of inspiration for Steven Devereaux Greene, who went on to found his namesake restaurant, Devereaux, in Greenville.

What do you expect? For them to individually craft each store, like Neiman Marcus? It's a dollar store for gods sake.
I do agree. Typically prices are lower at Walmart/Target, so the only thing going for the dollar stores are their convenience since they are smaller and have more locations. Just be happy it's not a Dollar Tree
All $1 items+inflation=even more junk than the last time I was there, probably about 15 years ago. My grandma liked that store.
Any word on the new Forever 21 in Sears at Haywood?
They're opening a Forever 21 in Sears? Hot d*mn. They are a bit too trendy for my taste (for the most part) but I do occasionally run across good, but cheap vintage styled/boho stuff there. I still can't believe that they went into the Saks 5th Avenue on King Street in Charleston. The store is huge!

I'm looking forward to the Forever 39 & Holding store to open at the mall.
